Easy Answer! connect to composite cabels to the ports underneath the words "DVD/VCR Out" for a Coaxial, use either the component ports or connect a coaxial cable from the port labled RF Out to the one on your television.

Hi there,
On a DVD/VCR combo unit....the Component Output (RED, GREEN, BLUE) is exclusive to the DVD player section only (VCR can only output analogue source) and will only be able to view DVD.
To watch VCR, you will need to connect to your TV via Composite (YELLOW) cable, into the Yellow AV input on your TV. You can then tune the VCR section to match your TV's RF input (if you prefer this connection).
Good luck...

SOURCE: Connect VCR without tuner to record from television
If it has a scart, you can get a scart lead to connect it to your TV. You would need to set the VCR to the Scart socket, IE: AV1 etc.. to record. You wouldn't be able to change channel on the TV, to watch another channel while recording though. If you had a set-top box, you could connect that up to the scart of the video then record, while you watched another channel on your TV.

SOURCE: Connecting my VCR/DVD combo to Toshiba television
It would be helpful to know what cable your trying to connect, component, S-VIDEO, HDMI, etc. Also the make & model of the combo unit & Toshiba TV. However the basic process is usually the same for most hardware. Make sure the connection to combo unit is "video/audio out" not in and make sure the input for the TV says IN not OUT. Then you need to set the TV to the correct input channel. And then make sure the combo unit is using the correct output... usually this is automatic for component cables but not always.
