Does anyone know where I can find a vent cover for the outside top of a Goldstar MV1310W. Every search I did with other part numbers that work, show them ALL discontinued. Used sites?

I have a microwave that the cover is missing for the vent from my tenants and now its ugly for new tenants.

SOURCE: cold air from outside coming in house through vent

Sounds like your damper (flap) outside is working, and that's probably the first thing to check. Wind may be also pulling the damper open from time to time. Hopefully the pipe fitting is sealed, and the pipe is insulated anywhere it runs through any unheated portion of the house. Some amount of cold air getting in will be unavoidable. The best bet next might be to look over the two pages in the installation instructions that deal with outside venting. If you don't have the installation instructions, you can get a copy here: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/literature/ Then if you don't notice any obvious problems with the installation, it may be time to contact the installer for their two cents.

SOURCE: wattage

The output power for model MA-780 was 700 watts, so I'd bet yours is either 600 or 700 watts.

SOURCE: microwave gets very hot on

If it gets hot enough were it is uncoftable to lay your hand on it then there is most likely a problem. If it is a new unit I beleive I would return it. Good luck.

SOURCE: microwave message says to replace

External vent systems have the charcoal filter removed, generally at the time of installation, as it is not needed for this application.
The charcoal filter removes odors from internal recycled airflow.
There should be an aluminum grease filter that you can remove to clean in a warm soapy solution, let dry, and reinstall.

SOURCE: Outside venting GE Profile Spacemaker XL1800

Your vent flap could be taped or it could be faulty installation not allowing the vent to open. If you take the front vent cover off, you should be able to reach in above the fan unit and gently push the vent flap up, it should move freely with no binding. If it doesn't it is taped or blocked. If it is taped, gently putting upward pressure on the flap might release the tape. If that doesn't work the vent installation is blocking the flap. You might have to remove the unit from the wall (two people to do this) or disassemble the vent duct above the microwave and rework the interface for clearance.

hope this helps,

How do I know if my Goldstar Microwave MV 1526 W - vent inside or outside?

If you mean airflow direction, it's outward. To test, dangle a thin strip of single tissue paper near the fan, watching angle.

MV1310W .....blower fan and both lights are inoperable. The oven itself does heat.

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid with a one year guarantee.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan, cooling fan, turntable, and/or inside light operation, too.

Details of our service are at our Web site, along with a video showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you prefer, you can order a new control circuit board from one of various suppliers. Look for a part number stenciled on the board, something like 6871W2S143B or 6871W2S008D, etc.

You can order it from the Pros here, from the Sears Parts Direct Web site image-4235112-10659157 or from Encompass here.

My gold star microwave worked lastnight. Went to

The outside bottom of your microwave usually has a belt hidden underneath a small cover directly under the turntable. This belt sometimes falls off or breaks, and sometimes the motor that turns the belt fails. Most time the motor can be found if you remove the main top cover of the microwave, about 10 screws.
Parts can be easily found at your local appliance parts store.

Best of luck.

Goldstar mircowave model 1310b parts manuel theres a plate at top of cooking area thats is burned two plastic pins hold it to top of mircowave need replacement, help curtis

Assuming that model is MV-1310B, that would be your stirrer fan cover, part number 3301W2A017A, which you can get from Encompass here or by calling toll-free at 866-779-5835.

If you need new clips / rivets for it, they are part number 4051W3A001A.

GE JVM1860SF001

Be sure the oven is unplugged.

There are two Phillips head screws on the very top of the outside of the cabinet above the vent.

When they're removed the vent grille just snaps out.

Venting

You will need the take the microwave down and take the shell off. Then take the vent fan out and turn it around the opposite direction and it will blow the other way.
