Lamp won't light, get solid Green light and flashing Red light
46HM94 DLP TV worked fine. Lamp blew and was replaced. That lamp worked for 1 month and then LED #3 indication. A 2nd lamp did the same. Seems that the ballast in the TV is bad.

DLP TV Won't Turn On Common How to Replace Ballast DeadTV ... solid green power light plus sound ...
I have a Mitsubishi model WD-60737 and to make a long story short 1st time problem lamp replaced fine for a month til my uncle hooked a DVD player to my TV next day turned on with solid green light then TV kept turning off after 2 to 3 minutes of beingetting turned on and a solid red light to show after. What does that mean? It's a brand new lamp and worked for a month so why shut down now? Could my uncle have did something to where it shook up the circuits or something?
The answers above are correct. It's either the lamp or the color wheel. Testing the lamp is pretty straight forward. Use an Ohm meter to see if the it's filament has continuity. It's unlikely that a good color wheel would fail immediately after changing the lamp. Look to see if some wiring is out of place and rubbing the wheel causing the noise you described. A jammed but otherwise good color wheel would cause the TV to shut down and display an error code.
Hi, Did you buy the original lamp? If the problem is related to the lamp door switch, you will get a different error instead of lamp LED.
Do you hear the color wheel spinning? Again, if it's a color wheel problem the error will be different! My good guess is the lamp but, it could be the ballast or both.
Thats the error code for the lamp ballast board having an issue. You can get the ballast at www.tvrepairworld.com under the Sony DLP Circuit board category. They also offer free installation information.

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?
2 things will cause this Lamp is defective, or Fan to lamp quits running this will shut TV OFF, if the fan quits running while Lamp is on it is design to shut Lamp Off to prevent Damage to Lamp IF Fans are ok It will be the Ballast board It is what turns Lamp on.Look on E-Bay for Ballast board if it turns out thats what you need or call Encompasss Electronics 1-800-638-3328
