Yes. Unless one was provided the standard is to just use an extension cord.

does the pump even attempt to run? or does it just hum when you try to turn it on? If it just hums either the pump is locked up or the motor start switch or capacitor is faulty.

1. Make sure the side lock is unlocked.
2. Push the thumb tab all the way to the front of the blade handle.
3. Insert the blade in the opening, you may notice two notches on the top side of the blade.
4. Press the small blade release button as you slide the blade into the knife. You may have to jiggle up and down to get the two notches on the blade fully into the handle.

If properly inserted, the exposed area of the blade should look very close to an equilateral triangle.

make sure both notches of the blade are inside the handle. They notch into the thumb lever.

good luck

My fatmax is not getting a connection when I plug the charger into it so I can charge it. What do I do?

I am guessing this is the Stanley Fatmax Battery charger. I would try a different cord, or different outlet, if you have not already done so. Possibly plug something else into the extension cord and see if it is working i.e. tamp etc.
Most of these charging units are produced by Baccus Global out of Florida - Customer Service is 877-571-2391.
Excessive long hold times and the folks answering - speak more Spanish than US English. They don't appear to answer email inquiries ever. Nice folks, just not much help. Escalating will do no good - as they Supervisor is usually not on site. Corporately they have no presence and are pretty much a ghost hierarchy..
If the unit is still under warranty - you may wish to see if Stanley will do anything. They have been caught up in several corporation buy outs and not the Customer Service of past years.
If you recently purchased it - perhaps you can exchange it? They have some reliable units.
Hope that helps.

Stanley Fatmax 1000 Peak Amp Power Station. How do you turn off the backlight please?

Question edited for clarity.

The LED Area Light or the Unit display. The backlit display always stays on to alert you to the internal battery status, so that when you come to use it, it should be fully charged.

Stanley Fatmax 450 Amp (Model J45TK)compressor starts and then stops right away. The charge is full showing the green LED light on.

You will likely have to open up the case to look inside.
The main components will be a circuit board, a 12v power supply, a 12v air pump and a 12v rechargeable battery. It sounds like a loose connection on the air compressor pump. When you turn it on it normally vibrates and is loud. This may be enough to shake loose a wire connection. If so it should be an easy fix to crimp or solder.

How do I charge the Fatmax 450 Amp by Stanley

It should come with a DC or AC charging plug. All you have to do is plug it into either the 12v socket on your car, or your AC wall outlet, depending on which plug(s) you have.

Stanley fatmax 450

Open up the case and look inside. A wire may have come off.
i had a brand new compressor that wouldn't power on. A wire was not connected. After reconnecting and a positive testing I put it back together. It ran for five minutes and stopped. It turns out the wire was too short (factory install) and came disconnected each time the compressor was turned on due to the vibration. I rerouted the wire so it wasn't so tight. Problem solved.
