My GE monogram referenced above is working fine but for some reason stopped producing ice. It appears that the water is just not entering the ice maker. However, the water dispenser works fine. Any suggestions? Does this appliance have a filter that could be clogged? I’ve owned it 20 years and have never replaced one

Make sure the filer arm is down and calling for ice and listen to see if the valve that allows water to enter the icemaker is making a noise. You may be familiar with that sound. If you don't hear it. the valve may need to be replaced. That is usually the culprit. Sometimes those older fridge valves are no longer available. You don't always have to have one that fits the same bracket. It just needs to functionally work as a valve and fit the tubes.

SOURCE: water dispenser not working ice maker is fine

The refrigerator has a dual water valve. The water dispenser side of the valve may be defective, but, my experience has shown the problem to be in the water reservoir, located in the bottom of the fresh food section, which, might be frozen or the water line through the freezer door is frozen. Scenario #1: Remove the kick panel, disconnect the water line from the fitting. Have someone depress the water actuator, while, holding a cup to collect any water which may come through the line. If water comes through the tube. The problem is a frozen water line in the door. My best advice for this problem is to remove any frozen goods from the door. Take a piece of cardboard and seal the freezer section of the refrigerator with any kind of tape. Make sure you tape the door switch in the closed position, so, the refrigerator will continue it's normal operation. The frozen goods will remain frozen and the fresh food section will be okay. Leave the freezer door open. You might want to put a towel under the door. The water line will thaw. It might take 15 minutes. It might take 3 hours. Periodically check the water dispenser operation. When the water flows remove the cardboard. Scenario # 2:if, after disconnecting the water line and depressing the water actuator there is not water. The reservoir is frozen. Use a hair dryer to that the reservoir. You will have to remove at least a couple of crisper drawers to perform this action. The cause of a reservoir freeze is too little stuff in the drawers or too low a temp in the crisper drawer area.

SOURCE: GE Monogram fridge is not dispensing water. Ice

Check your QuickChill damper in the feature pan. If it fails/hangs in the open position, you get excess Freezer air in the pan and in the vicinity of your water tank, which can freeze it solid

SOURCE: Refrigerator dispenses ice, but does not dispense water?

Unfortunately, the housing that the water filter fits into is also the housing for the solenoid controlled water valve, and that is the most likely failure item.

Why can't I select cubed ice on my ge monogram fridge, all of the other buttons work fine.

the reason for this problem is a jam of ice inside the ice bin that will not let the knives that crush the cubes, and cant release to let cubes go by uncrushed, remove the ice bin,put the remaining cubes in a bucket,or toss, then check the ice auger in the bin and if theres a build-up of ice melt it with hot water, then thoroughly dry it,then replace this unit into the freezer, but do not use it until its cold again from melting the ice jam, then resume the ice making cycle

GE Monogram Ice Maker makes ice, unit doesn't cool enough

This model Icemaker makes ice by flowing water across a freeze plate. It is located in the top of the unit behind the white cover directly below the ON/OFF/CLEAN switches. After freezing a sheet of ice it releases and slides to the cutting grid. It then drops into the ice bin and begins to melt and the whole process starts over again. The level of ice in the bin is controlled by the high level sensor on the right side of the ice bin. It is a whit tube with two wires coming out of the top. Without this sensor it can overrun the bin capacity. Bottom line this unit does not freeze ice, it only holds it like cooler does.

GE Monogram ZISS480DMCS Ice Maker Problem

Check and make sure that the float arm in the ice bin is down and able to swing. This arm should be down until the bin is full of ice which would raise the arm and stop any water flow until ice cubes are removed, and allows the arm to drop again to start the cycle all over again, to replace the ice that was used. The arm has a spot to snap in and be held where it would be in a position all the way raised, to allow the bin to come out for cleaning or all of the ice removal from the bin, such as to dump the ice in a cooler. The arm should be gently pulled down to hang freely and will slowly raise on its own as the bin fills with ice.
