VIZIO E500i-B1 broke again a month after replacing the power board. Having similar issue

My VIZIO E500i-B1 recently stopped working (again). A couple months ago, the Vizio logo would flash on the screen for a second and then go black but I still had audio. If I left the TV unplugged while I was at work, came home and plugged it in, it would (usually) work just fine. I replaced the Power Board and for a month it worked like it was brand new. Now today, the logo MIGHT flash on for a second then a black screen with audio, OR it just stays completely black with no audio. Backlight is not turning on either.

You might want to check the VIZIO website for help. Given how cheap even 4K UHD TV's are today, probably not worth fixing again. Unless under warranty, of course.

SOURCE: Vizio E500i-B1 won't power on unless power is cycled. After unplugging/plugging it back in it will work but it may need the power cycled a couple of times to get the audio and remote to work reliably.

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Upper right quadrant of my Vizio TV is dark!

This model had issues with cold solder connections going from the power to LED driver board, I think you will see the issues once you remove the power supply, the 2 boards plug directly into each other, its the power supply plug that gives issues

Vizio E500i-B1 power supply 24v only reads 15.6v and there is no on/off voltage. Any idea as to what is the cause? On/off switch does make contact correctly on main board.

I will try a new power supply board first, then try a main board.

It could be a low stand-by voltage on the PS, or a damaged EEPROM on the main board.

I have a vizio model E500I-B1, SERIAL LTY6PLYQ5254714 that I'm having some issues with.. it seems to have intermittent back like issues. can anyone advise me where to start?

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

My Vizio E500i-B1 won't turn on, replaced the power board, still won't turn on. 24V pins are only putting out 15V, PS-On is outting out .3V. What can I check next? Please help! Thanks!

Disconnect all the circuit boards from the power supply board and test the voltages again. If the voltages are correct, connect the other boards one at a time to see if one is dropping the voltage on the power supply. If you find one that lowers the power supply voltages to what you read before, that may be the problem board.

My vizio will not turn on. The light on the bottom flashes on and off, but nothing on the screen. I replaced the main board. It worked for several days then went right back this issue.

Have just looked on you tube , I typed in fix for VIZIO E500i -B1 power off and a 2.24 minute video appeared . if that does not solve your problem type the product info and fault again and check the videos that pop up . hope this info is of use to you....

My Vizio e500i-b1 LEDtv went out last night. How can i tell if it's the main board or the tcon board that isn't functioning?

I would verify the voltages on the power supply board first because an improper voltage to a circuit board may make that board look bad.
