SOURCE: error code sony dcr trv25 c:31:23

Sony says the unit needs a power reset (error 31). Unplug the camera, remove the battery and wait several minutes before re-attaching the battery and/or AC cable. Then power the camera back up. The 23 code says you need to use a InfoLithium battery-- apparently these are smart batteries that give data back to the camera. These error codes seem to be quite common however, and so a hardware issue may be the case. Some users have said that removing the battery while the camera is powered on will clear the codes. Others advocate "smacking" the camera, I would not however, recommend this. www.sony.com is a good place to look for more information.

SOURCE: handycam utility will not work

Took me a lot of cursing, and it's very simple. On your camera's screen there are 2 options saying "USB Connect". Only when you look really closely do you see that the 1st one is for the hard disk and the second is for a memory card. I expect you are using the wrong one..I was!

My SONY DCR-SR85 just shows white after I decide to reset the Handycam it still works before I decided to rest it all the hardware is ok just a white screen. So what should I do? (PLEASE ANSWER)

First of all, why did you reset it ? Was there an underlying error you were attempting to correct ? Resetting equipment is not just for playing with, you know.

Have you looked up this issue in the manual, or contacted the FAQ section of the Sony website ?

There should be a button on the side marked "Data Code" or similar; keep pressing it until the date/time are no longer displayed.

Sir, E31 error suddently happend in my SONY Handycam, Model: DCR SR85, 60GB HDD, all my datas are losed, how I can recover the recorded data? when I am on vacation with my relatives in my native...

You can recover lost photos, videos from memory card or memory stick of your camcorder with this
1. Do not save any new photos and videos into the memory card or memory stick.
2. Connect the memory card or memory stick with computer. You should see it shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download recovery software, recommended one is Tenorshare Data Recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)
http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/datarecoverystandard.htm
4. Install and open the program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your lost photos and videos.
