The following link explains how to replace a pump on a Kenmore top loader:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r397092-replacing_water_pump

The pump is only held in place by two retaining clips. Once the clips are removed, the pump (with hoses still attached) pulls directly off the motor shaft. NOTE: If the pump is leaking, it is NOT repairable and requires replacement. These pumps are sealed units. Replacements can be ordered on line at searspartsdirect.com, repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com. All three sites offere competitive pricing so shop all three for the best price. If you require addtional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Kenmore 665.1736 fills with water but does not spray

Take thre drain hose off from disposal. Pour hot water down the hose until full. Cover end with hand. Press cancel/drain while holding hand over hose - over bucket. That may unstick checkvalve balls and or fix air lock. I have to do that every 6 months or so. Started happening 1 month out of warranty. Go figure. Not a fix - just a work-around...

SOURCE: Im getting error code "LE" on my lg dishwasher

While LE is the LG error code for "Motor Error": The Motor is working abnormally, it does not always mean that the motor itself has failed.
As you replaced the pump motor, are you certain that the Impeller of Washing Pump is turning freely? Next, is the Blade spinning freely?
If everything above is obviously not locked, the next item is the controller board. (PCB)
Hope that helps. Please report back with your findings! Good Luck.

SOURCE: lg - LDS5811ST Dishwasher OE Error Code

hi
The most common cause of an OE error code on a modern LG dishwasher is:
1. Blocked drain hose
2. Obstruction in the sump area (beneath the filter, which needs to be removed to check for onstruction)
3. Failing drain motor.
else you need to REPLACE THE PCB POWER CONTROL BOARD

Dishwasher began leaking underneath when turned on. Humming as if trying to start, but nothing further exept water on floor

I don't know how old this dishwasher is but the symptom your describing sounds like the ceramic water seal on the bottom of the impeller assy but above the motor has failed. When the seal fails it allows water to run though the motor and then the bearings in the motor fail. Once water starts running though a dishwasher motor they are pretty much shot. The reason for this is that the leak starts out slow and it leaks for a long period before you ever see the water under the dishwasher. So by the time you see the leak water has been going through the pump / motor assy for weeks or months. By that time the service technicians only option is to replace the motor pump assy.

Indesit de3542 starts to go but stops after about 30 seconds

That is a discharging problem. What you can try initially is turn it off and unplug the power cable for about 2-3 hours to release any static charges. Then plug it back in. If that doesn't work, there's an internal electronics component that needs to be check. Discharging is a capacitor problem. There might a burned or bulged capacitor that needs to be replaced.

My kenmore 665 dishwasher will not pump water to the lower and upper spinner arms. The pump entry screen assy seems to have one tear in it and is dirty. However water does come out if I take off the lower...

Good eye--- Pull kick panel and look underneath. use a bright light to see if there is any drippage or what looks like corrosion on bottom of aluminum motor case. If you see this crud, then motor/pump seal has failed and motor is bad. About 100 motor/100 labor. Let me know if info helps- ED

Smelly dishes from Kenmore Ultra Wash

If you post the model number of your dishwasher plus its approximate age (in years) I can help more.

But the most common cause is a weakening pump motor. On many dishwashers, the wash pump motor is also the drain motor. Replacing that motor / pump assembly will solve the problem. While you are replacing the pump, check the heating element to confirm that it is not shorted out or broken.

For now, add a cap full of bleach to the water _after_ the initial dishwasher fill cycle ends and the wash cycle begins. White vinegar would also work, but this will not fix your problem.

Good Luck!

Dishwasher arm doesn't come up

If it has been out of use for a while the seal on the motor/pump is probably frozen. Remove the lower access panels and locate the motor pump. Youmay want to put on a kevlar glove. ocatethe fan on the motor and give it a good push until it frees up. Now turn the d/w on and watch for leaks. If it does leak then you would need to replace the motor/pump assy @ 150.00 for part.

Water does not drain

Hi

You can :

Check for hose kinks or food plugging drain hose. Start at the drain port exit

Check the check valve and drain hose for debris.

Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.

Check timer for not letting the dishwasher pause. ( not all dishwashers )

Check pump motor assembly for a drain solenoid, during the pump out make sure the solenoid makes that distinctive "clunk" noise

Check pump impeller for damage.

Check that the water inlet valve isn't seeping fresh water into the dishwasher when off.
Please contact for further clarifications.

Thanks

Kenmore dishwasher

fatubu, are you sure you have the correct model number, Im not finding anything on the posted model. They had an issue on models close to this that had an issue with a twisted or missing seal in the pump assy. causing water to fill the pressure switch hose. The dishwasher would drain water after the fill. The fix was to replace the pump and motor assy. Catriver..post back.
