Text Messages send as multimedia messages, and don't go through

I have regularly text messaged for a while, but recently when I text, either by creating a new message or by replying to a text, it will seem to be exactly the same, but then when I check my outbox, they have actually sent in Multimedia Message format. This is problematic because my friends do not receive the messages, and also because it is expensive because I do not have mms on my plan. How can I fix this?

I have V3 XX. I just deleted my outbox and it worked! Amazing. Thanks so much. How can I prevent this from happening again? Do you know what the limit is of messages I can store, in my inbox or outbox or combined? If I want to keep a lot of messages in my inbox, but don't care about my outbox and keep that cleaned out regularly, should the problem recur, or will it be fine? Again, thanks so much.

i currently have over 400 in my inbox, and i had about 25 in my outbox, when the problem was happening. i deleted the outbox, and now there are 3 in the outbox and still over 400 in the inbox, and the problem has been solved, at least for now. when you say 200, do you mean total, or what do you mean? btw it is a V3 XX

when sending "text" messages it sends annoying multimedia messages.

    deleted all my pictures.
then i deleted all outbox messages.

    tested by sending to myself.

    didn't fix yet

deleted all 442 messages in inbox

    it worked! fixed!

How do I send pictures?

HI, you cannot send pictures through text message but through multimedia messages..but before you can do this you need to activate your multimedia messages through your network provider and after activating it, you can only send multimedia messages to people that have also activated there own.

Pls help with template problem

when you go "new message" in the messages menu it should give you an option of text message as well as multimedia message and other things. If the problem is when replying to messages it should automatically send in text format and if it doesn't then it should once you have sent some "text" messages from the "new message" option. Hope this helps :-)

Phone Sending MMS Messages as Default

The phone allocates a certain amount of storage for messages on a whole. Even though there may still show space available for text messages, you have hit an invisible "limit" and the phone is now defaulting to MMS messages because there is "room" there. Delete a fair amount of messages and you should be able to start sending regular text's again.
