try using a ruler to check if you have the correct paper size.
open up HP Solution Center verify the printer settings..
use borderless printing, paper size 4 x 6.

Hi,
Please click here and follow the instructions to change scan settings in HP director.
If it does not work uninstall the software and download the full feature software for your printer.
Click here and select your OS and select Full feature software and click on download only.

Hi,
I think you are referring to "crop".
After pasting the picture in MS Word,
You would see "Picture Tools" top tab. Then under "Fomat" you would see "crop" click on it and try editing your picture.
It should reduce the size of your picture and maintain the normal image size.

Photo paper is heavier gauge and this may be showing a problem with the transport or pickup rollers and these may need cleaning.
