Have you tried running the exhaust fan when using the stove? Also you might try using the back burners. It sounds like the microwave is sitting too low and this may cause more issues as the time goes on.

SOURCE: kitchen aid stove problem

Peter,

First...be sure you cut power to the stove before you do anything. This is 220 volts and it can kill you. 220 Volts is based on two different lines of power coming to the stove, each of which is 110 volts...but opposite each other in phase. This may mean that some power to the stove is on and some is not. Let's go on.

I suspect a few things: First, the coil control for the burner is probably finished. What I also suspect is that it opened one of the two breakers (they are usually tied together in the panel and are either 40/50/60 amp units) causing some lights but no action.

What to do: Reset the breakers as a pair by turning them off and on. If one snaps off, you have a problem at the stove. If not,...which I doubt...you're in business.

Let's look at replacing the control. Shut the breakers. Now, take the burned control and remove it. Note the wiring positions if they are not on a plug. If they are terminals, tape the ends. Now, reset those breakers. If the other burners work, replace the control. Take the old one to the parts store. If it doesn't work, look around the burned area for broken wires. Repair and tape them up. Try again. Oh, and don't let anyone touch the stove while you're working with those breakers.

SOURCE: How do i replace door handle

The door handle can easily be replaced on MOST microwave ovens by removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

The average cost for a replacement handle usually runs about $20 - $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided.

The part number for the model number you provided varies depending on color, so make sure you order the correct one for your oven. You can view an exploded view of your microwave door here:

http://pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php

The door handle is a simple repair that can be done with the door in place, or with the door removed. You do not have to uninstall the oven if this is an over the range model.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you

SOURCE: my kitchen aid gas range display F5:E3 and contact

Hi

Error code F5-E3 indicates that there is an issue with the door latch switch assembly; if the switch tests open then the door lock assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Is it safe and could I make a 120 outlet from a 220v 2 wire hot, shield grounded range outlet?

No, you can't do any of that. A 60 amp breaker would allow the microwave to burn first before the breaker tripped. This is an easy job for an electrician to do, get it done to code specs. It is worth having it done right for a couple of hundred bucks that burning the hose down or turning all the earth points into a voltage sink.

MOD# C880-6402990 ser IMF0216838 Type 30S My issue is I had my microwave plugged into the extra outlet. I turned on the microwave and then it seems like it tripped something in the stove.

Check the circuit breaker for the house. It might be tripped. Sometimes a breaker will trip without moving the handle to indicate a trip. Reset the breaker several times.

Error code F2

Per the tech sheets (page 8), "F2" error code means "Keyboard failure". Recommended by the manufacturer to replace the touch panel first and, if it would not solve the problem, then the control board has to be replaced too. Not the best recommendation but we have to follow it.

- The part number for the touch panel (aka a membrane switch) is AP3130765

- The part number for the control board AP3130764

My husband put a plastic container on a hot stove rack, brand new stove, what is the best way to remove the baked on plastic

Take a single blade razor blade and slowly cut the plastic away, following the curve of the rack. This will take some time, but the plastic will come away. After the plastic is removed, use a scotch bright pad to clean the rack.

Hot microwave door handle

I always recommend that you use the vent fan whenever you're cooking on the stove top to keep heat, steam, and grease out of the controls and door panels.

Hot plate just wont turn on...switches checked in meter box and no iscolating switch. baumatic ceramic cook top. BA 13.2 ( i think) house just been sold. Hotplate wked thurs. House sold Fri. new owner...

Hello, is this a two electrical filament hot plate? Also, is this range stove/oven? I'm a little confused here on what exactly what you are referring to hot plate or cook stove with electrical burners and oven. If it a really old hot plate with one burner look at the plug there could be a fuse in it. If it is electrical range then check the control board and see they a fuse on. If not, check the voltage with a volt meter. Be very careful here there two phase that is 240 Volts AC. The voltage will be split between the two l20 hot legs AC which is 120 degrees out of phase in respect to each other; in other words, don't both of them don't let them touch each other.

If it a kitchen stove I'm fairly sure that the control board is shot and with this not operating it will not open the current/voltage relays for the electrical burners. REMEMBER YOU ARE DEALING WITH 240 VOLT AC...BE CAREFUL.... GB....stewbison

Since you are having problems with multiple elements the problem is probably the circuit board that controls them. This can be ordered and replaced. Be sure to unplug the stove before getting into the circuit board though.

Correct wire gauge and circuit breaker to use?

If it is only the oven that is electric and not the entire stove, the required wire size is 10/3 with ground and a 30AMP circuit breaker. If it is the entire stove then you need 50AMP range cable and a 50AMP breaker. If your doing your microwave also, you need a 20AMP breaker and the wire you need is 12/2 with ground.. If the current breaker you were running was 30AMP I would keep that for your oven and run new wire for your microwave.
