If you're in manual mode, you have to press the (+/-) button and then rotate the command dial at the same time. This will allow you to lower or raise the aperture f-number.
Thank you! So only in manual mode? (Duh I guess). I usually use Auto but all pics just seem to come out Dark. Have had this camera 3+ years. Couldn't find the answer you gave until I finally posted HERE! So relieved!
