That suggests your device is no longer seeing the SIM card, which suggests the terminals are dirty or distorted.

If you're lucky, you might be able to overcome that by using a standard, school-type pencil rubber/eraser to clean the terminals ... and please remember all you can clean is the male terminals on the card, not the female terminals on the device.

SOURCE: about removing sim from htc mobile

You have to remove the back cover, and on the left hand side there is a removeble cover (the silver strip on the side of the phone). When you remove that, you will see on the left the sim card. Press it in with you finger nai and voila.

SOURCE: no service on lg ks20

...you know, the windows mobile phones may brick from time to time...
As already mentioned somewhere here, try hard reset before going to LG service center:

But remember - before hard reseting always backup your data (phone numbers, emails...), otherwise you will lost them:

1. Turn off the LG KS-20 completely (do this by pressing and holding the power button and wait for the prompt).
2. Press and hold these three buttons–volume down, Call and power–till the LED (this is beside the front camera) flashes.
3. Release the buttons. That same LED should flash blue/red/green and power up.
4. The KS20 should be in a clean state.
5. Now check the network connection - if it still doesnt run then go to LG service center

Need PUK code, T-Mobile SIM is deactivated (cancel line)

  1. Contact your cellular service provider and have it provide you with a new SIM card. Let it know your account and phone number so that it can transfer your phone service to the new SIM card.
  2. Check the manual that came with your phone to see if the SIM card is found in the standard location beneath the battery or if it's located somewhere else.
  3. Turn your phone over and remove the back plate by pushing down on the slide panel and sliding it away from you. Remove the plate and then put your finger in between the battery and the side wall. Push the battery away and pull it out of the phone.
  4. See if the SIM card has a metal covering. Remove the covering if there is one present and then pull the SIM card out.
  5. Place the new SIM card in the card holder and then snap back down the metal covering. Make sure to place the card in the same direction as the old card or your phone will not be able to read it. Put the battery back in and then place the back panel back on. Power on your phone to ensure that the SIM is working properly.

WARNING
Do not enter in any codes if the phone asks for a "PUK" or "SIM lock" code. Contact your cellular provider immediately and request the code because if you enter in an incorrect code, your SIM card will permanently deactivate itself.

Couldn't register service provider. Display shows ''LTD. SERVICE''

Its purely network problem. Dont try again and again with the same solutions. Switch off the mobile for some time, remove battery, and sim card, and put them again after some time and switch it on. In samsung, while switching on, it will show the service providers name in the start up screen. if it shows, then it should work. If it doesnt work, some problem with the sim card. try to replace it. or otherwise general operation in selecting the network shud help.
