Try looking on side of the chimney / flue for a rewritable thermal fuse. Will have two wires coming out of it, reset button between them. Press button to reset. If still inop, use a test light and probe across the wires. Clip onto one and probe the other. If the reset button was pressed, and test probe light is on, then you have a bad thermal fuse.

If the thermal fuse resets, take a hard look at why it may have tripped. Operating off level, operating in high temps, blocked ventilation, leaking cooling unit.

SOURCE: Dometic rm 2612. Shuts down on gas.

Ron;
Check the burner assembly. 1 screw, remove the sheet metal cover and clean it. The burner collects rust. This is the likely. Other issues would be the gas pressure usually checked with a manometer. Should 11" of water column. If your furnace works good then the gas pressure is probably ok. Also could have a faulty ignitor which sends a miliamp signal back to the circuit board. Check the burner first, after that leave the cover off and turn the fridge on. Watch the ingnitor attempt to lite the burner. Be sure the spark is going to the burner and not shorting out on the sheet metal it is mounted in. If it is shorting to the frame the ignitor needs replacing.

SOURCE: operates with gas, does not operate with AC.

SOURCE: Freezer working, fridge isn't.

It is possible that your cooling unit is failing due to a blockage. The solution used to cool starts at the top of the fridge and works its way to the bottom. If there is a blockage in the cooling unit it could produce the symptom you have explained.

SOURCE: I have a Dometic RV fridge that wont get cold. it

It sounds like your cooling unit is going out. Here's a couple of things to check. Do you smell any ammonia when you open either one of the doors? When you look at the rear of the fridge, do you see anything that looks like rusty water that has run down any of the metal tubes and dried up? If the answer to either one of these is "yes", then youll need to start looking for a new fridge or replace the cooling unit on the one that you have.

Hi I have a dometic 3 way fridge RM 4601RBX wont run on AC or DC can someone help please

Look at the back of your fridge by temoving lower vent / avross panel on outdide. Find the 12v power wires that are likely coming up from floor of compartmentn. They should go to a small terminal block. Make sure they are tight here, on both sides of the block.

Look closely in this area for a fuse holder, probably valued at 25 amps. Check this fuse, replace as necessary. If blown, can be caused by dc heater failing or converter may have surged while running on the shoreline.

Find the AC outlet where fridge is plugged into. See if it has a reset button on it, otherwise check bath and kitxhen outlets for an ourlet that resets the ground fault / earth leakage function. If this is tripped, may have been a surge when operaring on shoreline or generarator or a wiring problem could be present.

You may also have a bad mode switch, especially if frisge is gerting both 12vdc and ac power to it. Its not unusual for propane to continue to be able to operate since that is the preferred mode for most rv / caravan refrigerators.

2 year old RM 2620 fridge, stopped working. I have power to the plug where it plugs in, but there's no lights or cooling now. Fuses are fine.

On the back side of the unit there will be a small thermostat switch mounted on the heat column. It will be round with two wires attached to it. In the center is a reset button. If this button does not restore power then the next step is to replace the wire coming from 12v supply to the thremostat switch. The wire will be red and will have a black sleeve on it. Under the sleeve is a safety diode (to prevent overheating and fire), it will be held in place with three bendable metal fingers. If the diode is bad it will not allow 12v power to pass through to the circuit board. Even though the refrigerator is running on 110v power the circuit board still requires 12v power to operate. The diode is a part of a FREE recall kit offered by Dometic so your local RV repair center should be able to help you out.

I have a dometic rm 2652 in a 2003 travel trl. The propane side works. The elect side quit working. There is power to plug. The lights for auto and fridge inter. also work. The two fuses are good.

Unplug hydro plug to fridge. Remove cover on circuit board. Follow wires from heating element, to terminals on circuit board. ( probably J7 and J8 ) . With an AC volt meter or multimeter set to AC voltage, turn fridge on hydro, and leave door open on fridge so that it calls for cooling. To be sure it's calling for cool, try gas first, when it's starts, you know it's calling for cool, then switch to AC operation. Now test for voltage at the 2 terminals that the heating element were/are attached to. If you get 100-120 VAC, then replace the heating element. If not get back to me and I'll walk you through a couple more tests.

Dometic RM 2214R

Yep, got some ideas. First off, I am not able to find information on a RM2214 fridge. Maybe the model # that you posted is incorrect? Does it say Royal, Elite or AES on the front of it?

Measure the DC connection terminal block with a volt meter. You should have at least 11 volts, but not more than 16. While you are measuring DC, change your meter over to AC volts, and measure the ripple voltage. You should not have more than half a volt AC. If so, your converter is having issues, and may have blown the control board.

Locate the control board on the back of the fridge. Unplug fridge from 120vac. Remove the plastic cover over the control board. In the top left corner of the control board, there is a 6 pin connector. Look for a loose wiring connector here. You probably will have to push it back into its socket on the circuit board.

Of course, this is assuming that you are turning the fridge on via the on/off button on the control panel...

Dometic Refrigerator Model RM 2820 Stopped working purchased 5-4-2004 . Tom Collins

Hi Tom,

If your fridge quit working altogether, check your DC fuses in the fuse box, as well as the back of the fridge under the black plastic cover (3 amp). Though the fridge uses LP and 120vac to cool, it is controlled by 12 volts.
