I need to replace an old cctv monitor ADT model # HD14S1042-A. Can you advise?

The previous owners should give you the code it it was mentioned in the house sale. The unit is probably no use without a monitoring contract. You can't probably reset everything by removing the motherboard battery, but it says in the link that the code is in the manual. My initials are 'ADT'.

ADT doesn't build alarms look for other branding like Honeywell and a model number if it has a flip down door look in there. Generally speaking you need to replace a panel as the phone or cell inside your current one is set to dial out to adt you can use the censors though

You will find that the company ADT do the monitoring of alarms
they control it at their end . its over the phone line's.
try to disconnected the unit from power supply.?

Your cameras might be in PAL mode, go into system settings and change to NTSC setting.

Not all DVRs have WORKING VGA output. I used to work for Nuvico, and we had 2 different versions for DVRs. Ones with VGA connection. The other with non-working VGA connection. VGA port itself does not guarantee. Some DVRs also have DIP switch in the back. You can simply toggle between composite or VGA output. Ones with DIP switches often require reboot, and from my experience these do not work well with VGA monitors. Also... Make sure VGA monitor support low resolution. Stand-alone DVRs' native resolution is either 600 or 800 horizontal lines.

You are correct. The power supply (trace) is a very high voltage device. If it goes out, you will receive no power anywhere in the unit. It will most likely be cheaper just to replace the monitor.
