My admiral is leaking at the bottom of the door. I have checked & cleaned all around the seals that made it worse.

  • mutigers1027 Aug 06, 2009

Upon further investigation I noticed that my door panal on the outside is bent. Like there was to much weight in the center while the door was down. The hinges are ok but the door is bowed. Could this be the problem?

The most common reason for leaks is a failed/cracked gasket. Replacing it is actually not as hard as it appears.

The second reason for leaking is damaged/bent (sprung) hinges that, when the door is closed/latched do not tightly seal the door against the gasket.

Please report what you find, OK?

Replacing the door gasket is a very good first step.

Yes, if the entire door is bent (and not just the front trim panel) it could cause the leak at the bottom of the dishwasher.

This can happen if the door is open and someone steps up on that opened door. Replacing the door would probably solve the problem, but do inspect the gasket carefully, too.

How to replace the bottom door seal on a Electrolux Dishlex dishwasher DX303WK

How to replace the bottom door seal on an Electrolux Dishlex dishwasher DX303WK.

To Note: Before you begin, make sure you have the correct door seal for your dishwasher model. Before beginning any repairs, switch off the dishwasher and unhook it from the power source.

Materials Needed:
  • New door seal compatible with Electrolux Dishlex DX303WK
  • Screwdriver
  • Pliers
  • Clean cloth
Step 1: Remove the Old Door Seal
  • Open the dishwasher door and locate the existing door seal around the bottom edge of the tub.
  • Gently peel back the old door seal from the edge of the tub. It should be secured with a rubber gasket or clips.
  • Use a screwdriver or pliers, if necessary, to remove any retaining clips or fasteners holding the old seal in place.
Step 2: Clean the Area
  • Once the old door seal is removed, clean the area around the edge of the tub thoroughly. Use a clean cloth to remove any dirt, debris, or residue.
Step 3: Install the New Door Seal
  • Take the new door seal and align it around the edge of the dishwasher tub, making sure it sits properly in place.
  • If your dishwasher has retaining clips or fasteners, use them to secure the new door seal in place. Alternatively, press the seal firmly to ensure it adheres to the tub securely.
Step 4: Test the Door
  • After installing the new door seal, close the dishwasher door gently.
  • Check for any obstructions or misalignment of the seal by running your fingers along the entire perimeter of the door. The seal should be evenly and securely in place.
Step 5: Reconnect and test the power.
Connect the dishwasher to the power source after ensuring that the new door seal is correctly placed.
Run a brief cycle or just check for leaks while the dishwasher is running normally.
If you run into any problems or difficulties throughout the replacement procedure, review the dishwasher's user manual or call Electrolux customer service for assistance. Additionally, if you are unsure about replacing the dishwasher yourself, consider hiring a professional dishwasher repair service.

Water level too high overflowing the tray and comes out bottom of door

Drain the dishwasher. There's a box in towards the front of the door. It's shaped like an oval. Carefully remove and clean that. Lift it up and down after and listen for clicking. Try running it again.

My black LG 24 builtin dishwasher has suddenly started leaking about 1/3 cup of water around the bottom vent on the door (LH side). How do I make adjustments to the door to stop this? I have already...

Check the door seal. To do this, make sure the door and the rubber gasket is complete dry. Apply a liberal amount of liquid detergent around the rubber gasket. Then close the door. Open the door and look for the liquid detergent to transfer onto the door. If there is a gap, then you will need to replace the door seal.

it may not be the door that is leaking if this is an older admiral or whirlpool dishwasher the lever that holds the soap door closed has a little rubber seal that after time will let water in during the wash cycle it the runs down the inside of the door and out the bottom if you rmove the in side of the door you will probably see the water trail from the wax motor down. this gasket is not expensive or hard to replace.

Why is or fridge leaking water out the bottom. Bottom mount fridge, checked the water try in the back, no cracks, no leaking, Twice in four days days it leaks water on the floor. No problems cooling,...

I've seen this occur when the refrigerator door is getting closed fully Either a food item is preventing complete closure, (though it may look closed) or a seal is failing. Check the seals by pulling a dollar bill out from in between the seals. If it doesn't catch make sure the seals around the doors are ingood shape and clean. You can also use a heat gun to warm -up the seal and get to expand so you get a good suction

Front loader washer leaks from bottom center of door osmetimes

Check inside the door on the bellows gasket to make sure the inlet area (normally at the 10 o'clock position) is properly positioned around the water inlet, sometimes these work themselves off the inlet nozzle and can casue a leak when the washer is filling up.

Also, carefully run your hand around the bellows gasket to see if you can find any small holes that cold be letting water leak out. You'll need a flashlight to make this easier. It is hardly ever the hinges that causes a leak since the hinges are mounted outside of the door seal gasket (bellows gasket) and aren't ever exposed to the water.
