Samung's code for DVD to Yamaha remote is "0600" if that does not work, your Yamaha remote is a "Learning" remote and can learn your DVD's remote button by button. If you don't have your Yamaha manual, here it is.

Hi,

On fornt of the player you have the buttons for opreation.You can use these buttons to operate your DVD player with out remote.

I have attached a image for your BD-P1600 player so your reference

1.DISC TRAY :Opens to accept a disc.
2.DISPLAY :Displays the playing status, time, etc.
3.Remote Control Sensor :Detects signals from the remote control.
4.OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON :Opens and closes the disc tray.
5.SEARCH/SKIP BUTTONS :Goes to the next title/chapter/track or goes back to the previous title/chapter/track.
6.STOP BUTTON :Stops disc playback.
7.PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON: Plays a disc or pauses playback.
8.POWER BUTTON :Turns the Blu-ray Disc Player on and off.
9.USB HOST:A USB memory flash stick can be connected here and used as storage when connected
to BD-LIVE. It can also be used for firmware upgrades and MP3/JPEG playback.
