Simply go to your local electronics store (or WalMart) and get an inexpensive UNIVERSAL REMOTE Control. It works with all types of equipment and it comes with full directions on how to set it up and use it. Be certain to write down the Make & Mod.# of the device you need to use it on so you can select the proper codes needed to do the setup.

or take a note of the tv model number and make and search for a replacement remote control on the search engines like google . I did this myself when I lost a remote for a tv and when I needed an airconditioner remote replacement

Lost remote control, need the code to use either on our AT&T remote of on a universal remote.

Your AT&T remote may not be able to operate your device because it is too old. A newer universal remote may work just fine. My URs have the option to "find" the code by putting the remote in the proper device to operate mode and just pressing the "channel" up/down button until the device turns on or off.

I have a DVD/VHS recorder and lost the remote for it --DVW 5000 --Will a Universal Remote work?

We lost our original remote also. We got a generic remote. It came w/instructions & a list of brands/devices that it will work with. I found Sanyo on the list & entered the code associated w/Sanyo into the new remote & presto. We were using our DVW 5000 again.

We gave lost the remote for our Vizio 42" HDTV.

By manual I guess you mean the buttons on the TV and not switching the actual cables. my recommendation is to get a good new universal remote. My personal preference for my Vizio TV is the Logitech 650. Just know that you program it on a computer. It controls up to 6 devices (TV, DVD, Cable box, audio and more), is easy to program with no codes to enter. I am sure it is easier to get then a new Vizio remote though a little pricey at $60.
Hope this helps,
Cullen
