You need to download K Lite Codec Pack (Its Free) and you can install it via....... or you can try googling it.

It contains all the different audio and video codecs. Your computer might not play it because it doesnt have a blue ray codec by default

Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

This indicates the laser has actually failed on the blu ray side of things. The lasers are very delicate and almost always go bad before the dvd laser. If the unit is no longer under warranty you are going to want to either sell it for parts or juts keep it for a dvd player. I am so sorry about that but it's defniitely not a firmware issue or software setting, it is definitely the actual physical laser that has failed.

SOURCE: i need to find firmware update for model sc-bt228.

The only firmware update available for the sc-bt228 is here: . It is dated 9/27/2010 and is a Viera Cast Update.

If you do not end up at the right tab, make sure to click the Drivers and Downloads Tab.

I hope this helps.

I have a Sanyo blu ray player it plays dvds but blu rays only play the previews when I push play their is a red circle with a line threw it

Blu-Ray DVDs have some serious security encryption on them to avoid piracy. This encryption is constantly going through evolution. It is up to the manufacturers of the players to provide updates to allow the older players to play the newer content. Check to see that your firmware is current. This is most likely your problem.

Samsung bd-p1500 wont play dvds

The laser pickup unit has the fault. For blu-ray players, it will be very difficult to get it from open electronic spare part market. You have to contact the authorized service center for Samsung in this case. They won't give it you, only provide a guaranteed service to your player.

Stopped playing Blu Ray discs, but still plays DVDs...

Have you tried upgrading your player's firmware? I have the same model, and had similar problems playing newer Blue Ray Discs.

The solution is to go to sony's website, download the firmware upgrade, burn it to a disc and then load the disc into the player to fix it.

I hope that helps.

Update player to play all blue ray dvd

The firmware updates for the Blu-Ray players are available directly from the manufacturers' websites - I won't be able to give you an exact website, because we don't know your manufacturer or model #. Not all firmware updates will resolve all issues with Blu-Ray playback. For instance, even the most recent updates for the Philips and Sony Blu-Ray players do not allow you to watch every single Blu-Ray - but this could change at any point in the future. Unfortunately, Blu-Ray is an evolving technology, and each studio is using a slightly different version of the Blu-Ray format - this has caused numerous conflicts and playability issues. For my money, the Playstation 3 is the best Blu-Ray player on the market - it is future-proof.
