SOURCE: when i switch on my printer, it tells me to check

Try to clean the place where you put the cartridges using a contacts cleaner, do the same with the cartridge.

The black cartridge does not print. It is full.

Generic comments

Does your cartridge require "installing"?

Id suggest you remove it and reinsert it, making sure you seat it properly. You did remove the tape that seals the cartridge, right?

Then open your printer in the control panel ... print a test page. (check for options you may have on themaintenance tab, if available)

I hope you find this useful

Hp photosmart 2710

sounds like there's something stuck under the cartridge, or the 'compatibility' is suspect..that's the only reason that happens, a mechanical mismatch
