This could be caused by 1 of 3 things. A weak igniter: test the resistance. A weak temperature sensor: test the resistance and/or the main board. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: hotpoint oven won't heat above 250 degrees broiler works fine as well as the stove top

either its the oven sensor rod located at the top of the ovens cavity,or your bake element could be getting a hot spot which is when it gets a discolored spot in the element and can no longer pass sufficient current to heat the oven past 250 degrees

SOURCE: Is the oven temperature in Celcius or Farenheit...I tried to heat up oven to cook chicken and it only goes up to 287 degrees....

It should come programmed with ?F. Have you tried to cook anything in the unit to measure the temperature? That would be another way to easily tell. Set it for the highest you can get it and bake something you normally would be at a lower temp for lower amount of time and go from there.

The water has damaged the control board which will need to be replaced. Here is the part to order. Here is a diagram of the the unit. The board is number 33.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

Oven would not light. I replaced the igniter and now it lights but it will not heat past 200 degrees. Is this the thermostat acting up or is this connected to the gas supply? Any suggestions??? My oven...

when you say now it lights. is just the ignitor lighting?or can you hear the gas flowing??? can you feel it heating at all?? should start at 100 degrees and climb up from there. no reason for it not to heat past 200 (unless set to Celsius which default setting of 350 =190degress) therefore will not heat past 200. and wont let you try to heat to 425 , that would be off the charts of Celsius conversion. sensor problem would eitherno t let stove come on or wouldnt stop from heating eitherway a code would come up in the display

Why my oven temp only foes to 287 degree

have a electrical technician check it out
if it is a two element oven the it is possible that one element is not working or
the thermostat is faulty and not registering the higher temperature to switch the second element on

Oven will not heat past 195 degrees

Check and see if you have blown a fuse which is usually in the top of the stove in the area of the clock if you have one. You usually can get in from the back of the stove at the top.

My oven temperature is 100 degrees hotter than it should be

It will be the sensor inside the oven compartment that is causing the problem.
A new sensor should cure the prob, certainley cheaoer than buying a new oven.
    Hope my advice helps you.

Oven will not heat past 300 degrees (on bake command)

Remove the bottom plate on the stove which is likely help in place by a couple of bolts at the back. Remove the plate & inspect the bake element underneath. It is probably melted or broken in some area. It it does need replacing unplug the stove from the wall & remove one of the back panels at the back of the stove which access the wiring at this height on the stove. Disconnect the element.
Installation of new element is the same but in reverse.
    Good luck!
