SOURCE: Pioneer Elite Plasma TV

This a factory issue and usually requires service. Most cases it is a bad power supply caused by a surge or powering off and on too fast ... sorry I wish I had better news

SOURCE: I have a Pioneer Plasma

The weird sound was caused by the power source being so overstressed that the emergency shutdown was engaged. This is what happened: a part inside your tv was failing and, when you tried to start the tv, the sudden electric shock caused by the starting of the power source has been too much so it finally failed in a big way - it shorted. This short has caused a big spike it the current drawn from the power source, way more that it's designed to deliver normally - generating the sound you heard. This spike in the current has triggered the protection system into action - the power source has been forcefully shut down.
Since the protection system is now activated the only way to reset it is to eliminate the short. The only way to do that is to open the tv and test the components, find the failed one and replace it - a job for a skilled repair man.

Pioneer PDP 4330HD display flashes red LED 4 times

Hello,

Just seeing if you had resolved the problem as my mum's Pioneer PDP-433HDE which she bought back 2002 has developed this same fault.

It has been a perfect TV and done very well with plenty of good use, but I have a feeling the cost of repair - even if it is possibale will be costly.

Cheers

PIONEER PDP-R06U / PRO-R06U MEDIA RECEIVER SERVICE

Hey,
This may be too late...
I got it from the field manual.

Trap Switch Reset Procedure
G-4, G-5, G-6, G-7, G-8
• Replace media receiver, plasma panel cover, or tape down HDCP trap switch.
If the model in question has the TV Guide option, the TV Guide
option must be turned off before proceeding.
• Using the customer’s remote control enter “service mode” by pressing the
following key sequence:
1. Press the “display” button then release the “display” button.
2. Wait between 3 and 7 seconds
3. Press and release the “<”, “^”, “<”, “>”, and “power” buttons in sequence.
• Panel will now turn on in “service mode”.
4. Press “muting” button 3, 4 or 5 times depending on model you are working on.
Until the display shows the “initialize” page.
5. Press and hold the “display” button until the error indicator (red LED) on
either the panel or the media receiver goes out.
6. Exit service mode by pressing the “power” button on the remote.

I had to try it a couple of times before I got it to work. I.m not too sure how to turn off the tv guide mode. I just held it in for a couple of sec,s.

Good luck

61 inch pioneer plasma audio hook up?

I checked on Pioneer's site and couldn't find literature for this model, but did find the product information sheet for a model PDP-614MX. It may be similar, but no promises. This model has no audio output available, but does accept several audio inputs. It shows speaker terminals on the bottom and claims a 9-watt output for each channel. Speakers that mounted on the sides were available as an option.

This monster was originally designed for professional use (stores and such) as strictly an output display device. Probably the best solution would be to use this to display the video, and run the audio output from the source (DVD, satellite receiver, etc.) to a separate amplifier to drive your speakers.
