Yes, 99% of microwaves use two mini fuses, that u can buy at Walmart or autozone. A pack costs about $5. Unplug the microwave, remove the back (pretty ez..mostly Phillips head screws) look along the bottom edge and you should see the fuses plain as day.
Remove and replace them, and you'll be good to go!

It may have a blown fuse or - assuming yours is a model NN-H965 - a defective inverter. The fuse is generally located on the bottom of the chassis of the microwave. You have to remove the outer cover on a counter top model - or the front panel assembly on an over-the-range model. There are several reasons why it may blow. If the fuse is loose in the holder, the fuse and the holder should both be replaced. If - with the microwave disconnected from the wall - you can easily turn the fuse with your fingers while it's in the holder, then it's too loose. What happens is the loose connection generates too much heat, causing it to melt internally. If so, you'll usually see a ball of solder at a point where the cap meets the body of the fuse. If the fuse blows as soon as you plug the oven in the wall, or when you open the door, the problem is likely with the door switches. You can find my files "doorsw.txt" and "safety'txt" via Google. They give you the safety warnings and cover the diagnosis and replacement of the door switches. If the fuse blows as soon as you hit START, then it's likely that you have a shorted high-voltage capacitor. If the fuse blows a few seconds after you hit START, then it's likely that you have an overheating / shorting high-voltage transformer. While an inverter (switched-mode power supply) is more efficient from a power consumption standpoint, it is more complex, thus more statistically prone to fail. These should only be examined and worked on by someone who has the necessary technical qualifications. Seriously. Often the machine-soldered connections in a microwave inverter are too weak, so they eventually fail, especially if heat is high in the area. They sometimes fail catastrophically. When not catastrophically damaged, you may hear clicking and may smell an electrical odor, which is sometimes obscured by the cooling fan. Some manufacturers do not encourage or assist technicians to repair microwave inverters. They offer the inverter as a whole assembly. But sometimes that is actually cheaper than the time and labor required to fix the old one. If a technician is willing and able to troubleshoot and repair the inverter to component level, it will may be expensive, but may be worth it, especially if he or she will resolder and reinforce connections as needed as part of a thorough repair. That could easily make your inverter beter than a new one! You might be able to get some verbal estimates if you call Panasonic-authorized repair shops and ask then specifically about inverter repair and inverter replacement costs for your model number. Be safe!

SOURCE: GE Microwave Oven JE2160

A microwave can be dead for many reasons.

It may be the fuse, which is usually located behind the grille or on the floor of the oven behind the control panel or between the door switches.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout (TCO) / thermal fuse on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the magnetron thermostat to open.

Then when it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

When checking thermostats, if it has a hood fan thermostat, that should read open, as opposed to the others, which should read closed.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker (or GFI) when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or even an intermittent fuse.

You should do a continuity test on the fuse while it's in the holder (with the microwave unplugged, of course) then turn the fuse by hand or take it out and put it back in, then test it again.

If you remove the fuse, then press the meter leads against the ends, it can allow internal contact to be made and make a bad fuse appear to be good.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

A microwave can be dead for many reasons.

It may be the fuse, which is usually located behind the grille, on the floor of the oven behind the control panel, between the door switches, or on the filter board near where the cord comes into the unit.

When checking TCOs or thermostats, if it has a hood fan thermostat, that should read open, as opposed to the others, which should read closed.

If the cavity thermostat needs to be checked or replaced you'll need to pull the oven from the wall.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here to make that easier.

In all likelihood the mangnetron is failing, or perhaps even the Power Supply is faulty. You need to have it serviced by a reputable service centre/man.
Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before proceeding, and remember these days the cost of repair can equal or exceed the price of a new one.

Panasonic 1250w genius senor inverter less then a year old. Control panel lights up, works.microwave itself does not, control panel shuts off in a few seconds

When a Panasonic Inverter Microwave shuts off after a feew seconds, it is either a bad inverter which is the quite expensive circuit board that powers the magnetron that puts out the microwave energy, or a bad magnetron, Or BOTH typically this would be a costly repair, But since it is still under warranty. You need to find a Panasonic warranty service provider in your area. If it is a counter top unit, you may have to take it to them for repair.

I have a Panasonic inverter microwave. Was working perfectly an hour ago. Now totally dead. There is no light or anything. Have checked plug and fuses. No smell or anything. Can you please help.

Could be a shorted inverter blew fuse and unit dead. Or bad fuse holder got fuse hot and melted fuse so now unit dead. Must check fuse first and if bad replace and try, if it blows as soon as it tries to heat probably bad inverter. If it works for a long while then quits maybe bad fuse holder not grabbing fuse tightly making it over heat. So then bad by temperature not amperage.

My Panasonic Over the range microwave Model NN-H264SF front touch pad don't get any beep plus i cannot put any number so microwave don't work. If range get over heat microwave exhaust fan get activated...

it needs to be repaired others have had the same problem.
here's one review...
liked this product very much, until it died after a little under 1.5 years. I brought it to a repair center recommended by Panasonic. They quoted me a parts-and-labor price of around $125 to fix the thing. The repair included a new membrane pad (the buttons on the front), new fuse, and new fuse holder.

The repair center told me they've been instructed by Panasonic to replace all old fuse holders with newer, better ones. Apparently, the original fuse holder was somewhat defective, causing the fuse to burn out. I don't know if this bears any relation as to why a relatively new membrane pad might have gone bad, but it's certainly annoying for a device costing several hundred dollars.

1= reset the c.breaker from your home see if are tripped and reset.
2= open for thermal fuse open, test continuity with DVOM OR VOM and replace.
3) test the power cord for open or broken or break.
4= check the switch for door maybe is open must be continuity until 0 , or swtich defective see the diagram attached. God bless you

18 years old, microwave suddenly died

When you say that you checked the circuit breaker, can I assume you meant the one for your home? There is a fuse in the microwave. Typically it is a 20 Amp fuse. To check it you will need to open the cover. A word of warning, there are some high voltage components like the capacitor that should be discharged before working on this device. If you are not familar with electronics, then you should take it to a qualified service person.

Same Problem - Suddenly Died ~2yrs old, very light use.

Probably a fuse inside the unit. Can be caused by overheating or by door switches not working properly.

Check for a circuit breaker on the back. If nothing, pull the plug and remove the case. Look for a blown fuse. If so, look for a shorted high voltage diode in the magnetron power supply or a shorted stirrer bearing located above or beside the cavity area where the microwaves enter. The stirrer is a metal fan-like device with a plastic bearing that often arcs internally. That shorts the microwaves out and blows a fuse. Replace the stirrer.

MW8115SS worked perfectly and then went dead

Blown fuse , take the outer cover off and change the fuse. Iff you don't have a fuse use a piece of tin foil until you find a replacement fuse.
Hopefully this helps you out.
