How do I replace a video card on a T6412 emachine. Monitor not working

This machine have an IGP video solution, an integrated graphic chip, therefore you can replace it. But you can ad one graphic chard, a very cheap one, if you use this machine only for internet browsing and office activities and light video activities.. You have an PCI Express X 16 slot free on your computers motherboard. But first check the functionality of our computer using some other video card, maybe borrowed from a friend.
I can suggest something like ATI Radeon HD 4350 to HD4650 or ATI Radeon HD 5450 to HD 5570. Those entry level graphic cards have HDMI output also.
You have an old system, maybe is not the IGP the only problem. Don't' get any more powerful card as you have a lesser capable power supplier.
Have a nice day.

ASUS P5LPK- AM IN GRAPHICS CARD SLOT

Yes it should, this motherboard has a PCI express 16X slot, so I don't see why not. The Radeon HD4350 should be PC express as well.

ATI Radeon HD 4350 will not display red.

Hello,

It could be a problem with the monitor cable.

Try unplugging and re-plugging the PC to monitor cable (VGA cable)

If possible, Use a different monitor to ensure that your video card is working fine.

After downloading the updated drivers for the Radeon HD 4550, my sound stopped working. I uninstalled the drivers and the software, reinstalled the software, and it still does not work.

You could try to rollback the driver to the previous working version. Just select the driver tab from the properties menu for your videocard and choose Roll Back Driver.

You can also find the current drivers and there compatibility information here.

Here is an older version of the driver if it would help.
