1, It depends upon the number of prints that you produce in a day. Generally, printhead cleaning ensures that there is no print quality issue with your Lexmark printer.

2, Doing so, will clear the dust and debris residue on your printer's printhead.

3, If you are running your printer the entire day, then it automatically requires some cooling period and the dust to be removed to avoid print quality issues.

Hence the reason, it might be prompting you for frequent printhead cleaning.

I suggest you find an answer pretty quickly as your printer uses its own ink to clean the heads. An expensive process.

remove the black ink unplug the unit then clean the contact in the black cartridge inside the printer carriage then replace the black ink again

      Try to rebrick your printer. Pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
      Also, make sure your printer is updated. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 Firmware Update.
      If the problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

      Black ink tank is full-printer says empty!

      Run a head cleaning mode this will usually fix the problem. If the machine hasn't been used for a while you might have to get in there with a q-tip a denatured alcohol and clean it.

      Lexmark pinnacle pro 901 quit copying in color

      Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
      If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
      It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

      Touch the Ink Levels on the touch panel of your printer, press on More Options > Replace Printhead > Open the cover > release the latch > Pull the printhead.

      Just unpacked new 901, loaded drivers etc, wireless set up, no problem but keeps saying "There is a problem with the printhead" I have taken head out, cleaned it but to no avail

      normally printer head is very sensitive. you will need to contact your point of purchase of your printer or contact the service center for lexmark
