The drain pump automatically runs when the FE code is displayed. A leaking water inlet valve or a stuck relay on the electronic control board can allow water to fill the dishwasher constantly. To check for a leaky water inlet valve, unplug the dishwasher and see if the tub continues to fill with water. If it does, shut off the water supply and replace the water inlet valve because the valve is letting water to flow into the dishwasher constantly. If water stops filling when you unplug the dishwasher, then you'll likely need to replace the electronic control board because the control board is constantly sending current to the water inlet valve

Does it no longer matter ? Very sorry ,you should seek a refund ASAP.

SOURCE: LG Dishwasher LD-2050WH with HE error code

This is a heater error. The cause is either a bad heating element or bad thermistor (the thermistor is part of the heater assembly). The heater assembly will need to be replaced.

SOURCE: LG Dishwasher LDS5811ST 1E error code

I had a LG certified repairman come out and fix. The electrical wires within the door were melted into the "tar" (sound deafening spray) and one wire actualy sheered. Apparently the drying cycle heats the tar and the wires become embeded and melt into the tar. This is what was causing the error code. After the wire was tested and spliced everything worked great. Long term...The door/electrical harness was replaced by LG.

SOURCE: i have an lg dishwasher mod#LDF7811ST, get error codeIE, changed the inlet valve, machine worked once then got IE error code again. Any suggestions?

If you are getting a IE or similar error on your LG dishwasher and have not been able to solve the problem using information based on that code, check the serial number of the dishwasher. If the first three numbers are between 501 and 702 you may have this problem:

The black mastic sound insulation material inside the dishwasher door can soften from the heat inside the dishwasher, allowing the wires inside the door to become embedded in it. If this has happened, the insulation on the wires can soften and begin to dissolve, resulting in shorted or broken wires. This may cause various error codes which may send you on a wild goose chase.

Take the screws out of the door and inspect the black insulation and the wires. If any wires are embedded in the black mastic, you may cut them and bypass them with a new section of wire, then make sure to add an insulating material to separate the wires from contacting the black mastic. In severe cases, the inner door panel must be replaced (they no longer use that type of mastic) and the wiring harness for the dishwasher would also be replaced. (a set of all the wires and plugs).

Displaying code IE

Hi jakkirker,

The IE error you are seeing means Inlet Error, this shows because your dishwasher is not getting enough water through in a specific time frame - Please check the following:

- Is the Inlet hose kinked in any way? (This could lead to low water pressure to the solenoid) Straighten it.
- Is the Inlet hose filter (Found when unscrewing the hose form the inlet on the machine) dirty? Clean it.
- Is the tap completely open? (Low pressure)
- Has your home gone under any plumbing alterations? (This could have also caused low water pressure - Too little water)

If all of these come back OK, and it still gives the same problem, I'd suggest replacing the inlet valve (Found on the opposite side of the inlet pipe - inside your Dishwasher), could also be a pressure switch (Found at the bottom of your Dishwasher - accessible from the bottom).

This should solve any problems.

Kind Regards :-)

Hi I have an LG LD - 14AW23 dishwasher. It shows an IE error (no water) but it fills, stops and then gives the error message. What's thye problem? Many thanks, John

Hi

Error code IE on LG dishwasher means Inlet error. This error comes up when the Water Supply Tap is closed or Water Supply is shut off. If water supply is turned on then make sure that the Inlet Hose is not kinked and water Pressure is not low (should be above 10 psi). Next thing to check for is Water Inlet Valve, measure the electric resistance of Inlet Valve. (950-1300 ohms) Make sure the filter of Inlet Valve is not clogged.

Hope this helps... Please post back for further assistance.

Ie error code

The Water Supply Tap is closed. The Water Supply is shut off. The Inlet Hose is kinked. The Water Pressure is very low. (below 10 psi) Inlet Valve is OK? The filter of Inlet Valve is clogged by impure water. The Hall sensor is OK? The Impeller of Air Guide is bound
Measure the electric resistance of Inlet Valve. (950-1300 ) Clean the filter of Inlet Valve. Check the frequency of Inlet Water by the Test Mode. Replace the Air Braker.

Lg LDS 5811st IE code

With an LG 5811 diswasher, when the IE error code is not caused by kinked hot water hose or blocked screen, the next step is to measure the electric resistance of the Inlet Valve. (950-1300 ohms)

My LG dishwasher keeps stopping on the wash cycle ond shows FE on the control pad.

Hello again annasgsds,
An FE error code signifies "excess error" meaning excessive water is supplied ..more than normal.. possible cause are the inlet valve ( which I made reference to in my previous response of the controller itself is damaged or defective. In either case.. LG recommends to replace the inlet valve or the controller once diagnostics are completed and you've identified which of the two components may be at fault. Could be either but before replacing the control card, I would remove and clean the inlet valve to see if that was clogged or dinged up and unable to fully close.
Regards,
Rick
