Hello...if you can try to clean the laser lens whit a smooth cotton pin it may be dusty,,i have had the same problem...don't use any solvent just the pin very carefully,,,maybe you can use a mild solution made of hand dish solvent... and dry clean after...alternative use a cd.cleaning disc...Good luck Ron

Hi
I think that we can get at least one of them going again :)
I suggest
While you are in there, with the front drawer open you should be able to see the laser lens. Use a cotton bud moistened with windex(glass cleaner) gently clean the lens in a circular motion and then also polish it with a dry one to be sure you have left no smears on the lens. Then.... try the unit again and see if the CD reads.
If you don't have any luck this far, please post back to me and we can try some other things. All this and you give me a FixYa... YAY :)
regards
robotek

This is a faulty loading motor. you will need to replace the entire optical lens assembly in this case. the motor is part of the assembly.

usualy when this is happening the case of the UMD/game?movie has been replaced with a clear aftermarket case or the case of the game has cracked and the clear part on the top of it is rubbing the disk.
If you use your thumb to press the disk upward and hold the cracked section with your other thumb you can pop the clear window on OE umd cases back into place.
