My htc phone is not recognised on pc in command prompt

The instructions are:

1. Turn on the computer.
2. Press and hold the F8 key.
3. At the Advanced Boot Options screen, choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
4. Press Enter.
5. Log in as Administrator.
6. When Command Prompt appears, type this command: rstrui.exe.
7. Press Enter.
8. Follow the wizard instructions to continue with System Restore.

Go to HTCs web site download HTC sync install it then plug in your phone if the prompt still doesn't come up go to control panel --> system --> device manager on your pc and look for a device with a yellow exclamation mark on it. Right click it choose uninstall after it finishes plug your phone back into your computer.

Try reinstalling the usb connectivity driver from htc website.

FYI: fay32 doesn't support files larger than 2GB so if your putting movies than do NTFS.

To format as FAT32 you have to open an command prompt as admin. Window Button > All Programs > Accessories > Right CLICK command prompt and run as admin.

<VOL> = your drive letter ex E:
Command to format as FAT32

format <VOL> /FS:FAT32 /X

Try to uninstall HTC Sync (restart) then re-install application again and restart again. Before you start HTC Sync first time, plug your phone and make sure driver are successfully installed then start HTC Sync.

i have an Htc too you must synchonize your htc to your pc or laptop, try to go to their website and get the software

Download Zune from www.zune.net and set it up with your handset, this should install the drivers.

check what OS you are using...if XP then download active sync Microsoft website... if windows vista or 7 then download microsft mobile device center... your PC will then recognise the phone.

Connect your Nokia N72 to your pc and format the phone from Command prompt and you can get command prompt from start - programmes - accessories - command Prompt. You can also format your pc from Dos/command prompt. When booting the pc enter bios settings and select to boot from dos prompt, from this point you can format your pc and everything on it will be wipe out.
