There are no user serviceable parts, the power unit may have a fuse or capacitor that has failed. If you want to look into fixing it then it could be a long haul with lots of test gear. On the other hand you may be able to get just the power board.

Testimonial: "Thanks. If I picked up a used remote could it by pass the on/off switch?"

SOURCE: My Kenwood KR-V5570 receiver powers

i had exact problem.
the bare wire speaker cables that connect via a clip connecor in back of the receiver are pushed too far in. something inside is shorting out with the speaker cables. solve this issue by either tightly twistng or soldering the wire ends ( then clip the ends about 1/4 inch long). watch out for the same issue of electrical shorts at the speaker end of the cables.

Kenwood KR-V8010 receiver. B speakers are not working. A speakers are

If the B speakers on your Kenwood KR-V8010 receiver are not working while the A speakers are working, there are a few things you can check:
  1. Check the speaker connections: Make sure that the B speakers are connected to the receiver properly. Ensure that the speaker wires are connected securely and that the polarity is correct.
  2. Check the speaker selector switch: The Kenwood KR-V8010 has a speaker selector switch that allows you to choose between A speakers, B speakers, or both. Make sure that the switch is set to the B speaker position.
  3. Check the speaker impedance: Make sure that the impedance of the B speakers is compatible with the receiver. The Kenwood KR-V8010 supports speakers with an impedance of 4 to 16 ohms. If the impedance of the B speakers is too low or too high, it can cause issues with the amplifier.
  4. Check the volume level: Make sure that the volume level is not set too low for the B speakers. If the volume level is too low, it may not be noticeable that the B speakers are not working.
  5. Check the output settings: The Kenwood KR-V8010 has a few output settings that can affect the sound output. Make sure that the settings for the B speakers are not muted or turned off.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the amplifier or the B speaker output circuit. In this case, it may be necessary to take the receiver to a professional for repair or maintenance.

KR-V6050 I cannot get audio to work on radio, video or any other setting. Also the red standby light stays on all the time, even when the power switch is turned off. Alan

Check the input / output connections are in the correct places. The red standby will stay on when the unit is off showing that it is ready for use. To confirm, turn the power off at the wall. The red light should go out after a few seconds.

I have a Kenwood kr-v8010 and all a suddenly one channel is only working just woundering if its a easy fix?

Could be a speaker wiring issue, defective speaker or possibly a speaker protection fuse inside the unit has blown.

1. Check speaker wires for proper connection.
2. Swap left and right speakers to see if the problem follows the speaker.
3. Check for internal speaker fuse that may have blown. PLEASE proceed with caution inside the unit. With the AC cord unplugged there are still high voltages resident inside...BE CAREFUL!!
