SOURCE: I have a VIZIO LED/LCD VF551XVT hooked up to a

I have the same set, same problem with one of my MOTOROLA boxes, but not with another. I have a SONY TV that works fine with this new MOTO box, but the new VIZIO does not. The audio is coming through the HDMI cable just fine, and the fact that it works when you cycle power on your TV means it's the SYNC between the TV and the BOX. I have the identical problem and am taking back the MOTO box for another one. I spoke to VIZIO for about 45 minutes trying different things. They think it's the MOTOROLA box, COX (my cable company) thinks it's this particular box, who knows.

SOURCE: No sound on NON HD channels

I had the exact same problem on a brand new Insignia 26 " LCD with DVD. Comcast tech was able to fix it by changing the Comcast box diagnostics. Here is what he did. Using the Comcast remote with the TV on - press power, cable, menu in that order. A comcast diagnostic srceen will appear. Select Additional HDMI options, then audio options. Change the audio options to L-PCM. Press power again to exit the diagnostics. That will fix it and you get to use the HDMI cable.

I have an alba 24”tv and just set up. All fine except when I select guide on tv and select channel pressing ok. I have the sound but no picture it stays on guide screen. If I press source and free view I...

This is a common trait with cheap brands. Alba are a cheap brand for a reason. Supermarket own brands also suffer flaws like this.
Cheaper usually means you lose a lot of functions that make life easier. Take Polaroid a cheap brand for Asda supermarkets. Use one of there TVs and you’ll see the same thing. You can press guide. You don’t get a tv picture in the guide like most more expensive brands. Select a channel. Press ok. Normally your guide would close once you press ok. But on these TVs you have to press ok. Then yet again press guide to close the TV guide to watch the channel.
When you buy cheap the normal practice is you give up silly things and quality that make normal life easier on proper brands like Sony or Samsung.
Some cheaper TVs you’ll also find don’t have a network or Ethernet connection or WiFi. To enable use of software updates. Cheaper TVs normally have to rely on “over the air” updates meaning the update has to be broadcast over UHF the same way your tv channels are. This is very rarely done as the updates can be to large in size.
It’s simply just the design of the tv you have. Cheaper doesn’t always mean better.

Watching tv and all of a sudden it starts flipping through the channels and won't stop

If you have _no antenna_, make sure the menu (for channels) is set to either ''cable'' or ''satellite''. The TV needs to _know_ there are no ''antenna'' channels to scan for.

If the above doesn't work, try unplugging for a _full_ 24 hours. Then plug in, turn it on, go directly into ''menu'' and do like I stated above.

Note: ''Capacitors'' can ''hold memory'' for a long time. That is why ''unplug for full 24 hrs.''

I want to delete channels on alba tv

press the menu then go to programming channel, select channel you want to delete.

Switch on alba tv and sound is there for a few seconds then goes off.

We are not dealing with analog TV signals any longer and so the operation of these display devices are more complicated.
If other channels are good then check the signal strength of the channel you are having trouble with as all these signals are now digital streams and they take time to sync up and the buffers to be loaded.
