Question about Optics

Is there any way to check a barska red dot scope that does not come on. Have put new battery in, put volt meter on battery to make sure it was good. Is there a way to disassemble.

Clean connections with sandpaper until shiny and tighten all connections. Measure the voltage with one lead at the battery positive and the other at the starter (voltage drop). It must be 0.4 or less. If more, you have bad connections or a bad cable.

Most red dot finders use a small watch style battery-- there will either be a compartment underneath and or something that opens on the side that contains the watch battery.

SOURCE: My wildgame camera model S4 will not power back up, I've changed the batteries twice and checked them with a volt meter to make sure they are good. I've only had the camera for 1yr.

1) memory card slot/batter covert is open
2)batteries are loades in the wrong direction
3) insufficiente battery voltage
4) poor contact between camera and battery terminal
5) swtich is fault, measure continuity.

You either have a bad meter or a bad ground to the meter if you have full battery voltage at the meter location.

Bought a Barska red dot sight and it needs the battires changed were is the battery soure on the sight so that I can change it out.

The battery's are under the large top cap, use a screw driver or coin to remove. watch for how they come out keeping in mind the positive side up. Hope this helps Fix Ya up.

Barska Excavator 8-32x50 scope. Where is the battery? I assume within the turret to turn on the light and for adjusting brightness? How is the battery cover removed?

This scope does not use batteries. It uses an IR or Illuminated Reciprocation. The light available is guided through a light track and illuminates the dot. The setting adjustment is used to allow less or more light through to illuminate.

No, that doesn't sound stupid. It's always a good idea to get all the information before using firearms and their accessories, and I'm happy to help:

The large knob on top of the scope is the rheostat, which is used to turn on the red dot, and adjust the brightness. It can be adjusted from "1" (dimmest) to "11" (brightest). You'll have to be looking straight down the scope to see the red dot, since it is only visible when you're aiming. If you turn on the scope to the brightest setting, and you look through like you are aiming, and the red dot is still not there (or very dim) then you probably need to replace the battery. It uses a 3 Volt coin-style lithium battery, type 2032. Unscrew the battery compartment on top of the rheostat and put the new battery "+" side up. Then replace the battery cover, and you should be good to go. Turn off the scope when you're done to save the batteries.

Since you bought the rifle with the scope already installed, it's probably already sighted in, or pretty close to being sighted in. Adjusting the windage and elevation on the red dot scope works just like other rifle scopes. The knob on top moves the point of impact up/down, and the knob on the side moves left/right. For this model, each click of adjustment moves the point fo impact by 1/2" at 100 yds, 1/4" at 50 yds, or 1/8" at 25 yds.

you have a gun mount problem its not a scope problem ,,,the scope mount is not a good fit to the gun and is off set to the barrel,,,
set the scope to center of its ajustment and then "pack out the scope with a bit of old 35mm film till you get it close to were you need it to hit then do the last bit of ajustment on the turrets,,this works for lift and windage

check with a volt meter if u have 12 volt at the big lead on the back of the alternator engine off

if thats good start engine check to see if alternator is charging check the battery a good alterntor charges 13.5 - 14 volts, u may have a bunk alternator

I put in a new battery thinking that might be the problem, after installing new one, it did not work, while fiddling with it the dot came on for a second then off and nothing I did could get it back on,...

take out the battery or batteries.
turn the scope on to full power.
place the battery or batteries in the scope.
just start the battery compartment cover onto the threads.
watch through scope as you slowly tighten cover.
If the dot lights up stop turning cover or experiment with continuing to thread on cover.
