Im seeing double on my 36inch Mitsubishi projection!

Everything was fine and then I turned it on this morning and im seeing double, everything is bleeding two images right now. Does this mean I have to replace the light in my projection tv? Its kind of old its only 1080i. I have had it for like 3-4 years now.

not to my knowledge, but again the tv has seen some usage. The colors themselves do appear to be seperated. Is this something that I could do myself manually to correct this?

Do the colors seem "separated" somehow?  Sounds like the projectors might have become misaligned. Has the TV been knocked by pets/children/spouse?

I'm not that familiar with projection TVs, but I suppose it can be done. It shouldn't be more to it than adjusting some screws inside I would think. It's probably tedious, though.

I'd recommend trying to align two of them first (I suppose it's three; Red Green Blue). Cover one up and align two colors, then move the cover and align the last one. I'm not at all familiar with your make and mopdel, so I'm not sure how easy it will be to get to any alignment screws.

I'd remove any cover on the back first and see if there are something serviceable ea sily available.

Keep in mind that it might be the mirrors or even the screen itself that is misaligned. It should be pretty easy to see if it's the screen, though. Then the front would look crooked or deformed. If you open it up it should also be fairly easy to see if the mirrors are a bit off.

Keep in mind that you *might* brick your TV if you don't know what rou're doing. If you're a bit handy and take your time you can probably pull it off. Just don't try to adjust. everything at once. Adjust in small steps, and if nothing seems to improve, turn the knob/screw back to where it was and adjust something else. No more than a quart or a half turn at most, and keep count so you can go back.

Check to see if mirrors are loose first, and keep in mind that the lamps may get very hot.

Best of luck to you if you go forward. :-)

    -Chris

I have panasonic hdtv 1080 bbe. when I turned it on this morning everything was double vision. I see the normal but everything has a red double. what can I do to correct this

As long as the set doesnt shut down and have a 3 flash error code then just replacing the two STK392-110 ICs should solve the issue. However the Low ohm resistors (six 2.2 ohm resistors ) should be checked and possibly replaced with the ICs. You can get the actual convergence repair kit for your model which contains the ICs, Heat sink paste, resistors and the CD with instructions from www.tvrepairworld.com

I have a 50" Sony Bravia Projection TV. In the morning when my kids turn on the TV, everything works fine. But if they turn it off and then 30 minutestry to turn it back on, the sound comes on but with...

i see a couple possibilites. im not going to rule out a bad lamp. the lamp does come on sometimes. i have seen faulty lamps display this sympton. since it gives no error codes (blinks) and then does not shutdown. i feel this is a deeper cuircit board problem that a tech might need to troubleshoot. how long has it been since lamp been replaced

No picture

If i am to understand this correctly, this is a rear projection television. Inside there may be 1 - 3 " color " control boards that control the picture before going on to the projector. an accumulation of dust / dirt / debris has adverse affects on electronic componants, make sure they are dust free (compressed air cleans them off quite well. If using a home compressor, make sure there is a vapor filter to remove water from the airlines.)

If they are clean, and as you said you recently had the television serviced to replace the projection lamp, take the television back to the repair shop to have them determine the problem.

If you yourself replaced the projection lamp, be sure to check all connections are properly seated if you had to disconnect something, make sure they are in the proper places, and any connections are securely connected.

If all else fails, have a local electronics / television repair person check the unit for faulty componants.

Mitsubishi wt-46809 not turning on

Your convergence amp ICs have most likely failed and that will shut the TV down. You need to replace both convergence ICs they are both STK392-570 you can get replacement ICs with free instalation instructions at the following link.

Mitsubishi vs 5043

I turned the set on and everything was fine, then the screen went black and mullti-colored horizontal (arched) lines were flashing across the screen. The next day I turned the set on and everything was fine for about 5 minutes then the problem reoccures again. Haven't looked for solutions till now.
