SOURCE: How do I thread the film through an 8mm B&H Projector
http://www.folkstreams.net/vafp/stream.php?id=97
It's about four and a half minutes long, and shows how to clean the various components that need cleaning beforehand as well as how to thread the projector.
However, I wish you good bloody luck on finding a bulb, if you don't have one that still works. From the look of the unit, it uses a DAR bulb, which was delisted (read: went out of production) thirty years ago. You can sometimes find new old-stock (NOS) DAR bulbs on eBay, but expect to pay $30 to $35 apiece plus shipping for them.

Check the drive belt, if the belt is too loose it will not pull the film inbeasuse ther is not enough tension on the pulleys and the belt will slip. If you need the belt, good luck finding it as there are nearly impossible to find.
SOURCE: I bought a bell & howell movie projector, need parts
Well Bell and Howell have a website, so i would suggest rtying them first to see where the distributors local to you are. Or you can contact a camera store and see if they will accept it as a repair or supply the parts
Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA
SOURCE: I think the belt is broken on my Bell and Howell
Remove the screws on the back case don't for get the one where the spare bulb is kept. Also remove the two screws that hold the power cord retainer in place. This will allow you to completely remove the cover from the unit. How ever the tricky part will be replacing the belt because you will have to remove the drive shaft in order to get the new belt over the pulleys. If the belt is not broken and just slipping try cleaning it with alcohol. It worked for me but I found two idler wheels had disintegrated in the clutch assm. Good luck.
