In a grand-am the radios yellow goes to the cars orange and the radios red goes to the cars yellow.

SOURCE: Switching the ignition off loses the preset stations
the red wire and yellow wires are crossed simple fix once radio is off

SOURCE: How to preset radio stations on stereo - lost manual
Find the station you want.... press and hold button or your chosing... (1-6) should beep when accepted.

SOURCE: How do I preset the stations for an Alpine TDA-7547 car Stereo
Select the station you want. Then hold down one of the 6 preset buttons for a couple seconds. When the station ID flashes, release the button and it should be saved.
