first you turn tv on


on the cable remote you have the io button and the tv button you press them both down at the same time for 3 secounds the io button will light up while it is lite you press the channel button up or down till the tv turns off then you press tv again it should blink twice to confirm the code then you will be able to use the remote with your tv if it dosent work take your time when it goes off dont hit the channel button to fast or again or you will load the next code if it dosent work try it again slowly till the tv turns off

while holding down the tvs power button push the channel up or down slowly. this will turn your tv off when your code is found. when it is found and your tv goes off release the power button. now your remote will work with your tv...........

Be sure that your TV is set to channel 3 or 4 if you are using the RF cable or Video 1, etc if using the Audio/Video cable.  The Installation  Guide should appear.  The "improved" picture that you are seeing is simply the analog throughput, not the digital conversion.

SOURCE: zenith xbv713 won't record on vhs tape

The Zenith XBV713 does not have a tuner and doesn't record TV shows. I think it can record if you're hooked up to cable with a tuner box.
