Question about Samsung Audio Players & Recorders
More info: My system consists of the HT 700, a Fire TV, and an old Samsung Plasma TV. Since the HT 700 does not have a HDMI there is also a HDMI Converter in the mix. So far I have change the RCA cord-stereo to converter, hdmi- Fire TV to converter and converter to Samsung, but I don't remember changing the red/blue/green cord. I also changed the Fire TV from wireless to wired and the speaker wire 14 gauge on a friends suggestion. Twice, when I have forgotten to turn off the stereo, it has woke me up in the middle of the night with a high pitch whine. It almost sounds like a smoke alarm, without going beep-beep-beep. I don't usually turn off my Fire but I do put it to sleep. My Samsung is also usually on, set to source hdmi. Any and all info and suggestions are appreciated.
I think its the flyback and its starting to leak. this is a component responsible for the high voltage of your tv set. always observe safety in dealing with this. Have it check by a qualified technician. Good luck!

have your built-in amp checked for trouble. there should be trouble in the output stage feedback loop. this is something to be done by a repair technician

DVI = HDMI without the audio connectors. So basically you need to connect your audio in some different way, PS3s allow you to keep your video signal as HDMI and change the Audio signal to component, so that is one way or doing it, not sure if the blue ray players allow you to do this though.
