SOURCE: Frigidaire side-by-side model # FRS26H5ASB4 making humming or buzzing noise
I had the same problem. I found the buzzing noise was caused by ice build up around the fan motor inside the freezer. I believe water must have leaked down around the fan during a defrost cycle. I removed the ice maker, the ice cube bin and ice dispenser auger motor. It sounds complicated, but it isn't too bad. The ice maker and auger are connected with quick connect plugs. So just unplug, remove the screws and remove them from the freezer. You will need to remove several other screws as well, I believe 11 in total as well as the top freezer rack. This will give you access to the white aluminum panel that runs from the top of the freezer to about halfway down the back of the freezer. After you remove the aluminum panel you will see the fan about half way down the freezer. I found a lot of ice around my fan. The fan blades were hitting the ice causing the buzz. Remove the ice and the buzzing is gone. It took me an hour to complete this repair. I hope this helps.
SOURCE: Why does the ice maker in my Frigidaire model# FRS6HR4HW1 refrigerator not receive any water?
Could be the solinoid valve that lets the water throuh to the ice maker. i I would check the coil on the valve for a curciut
Hello Kelly, I appreciate your post!
From my understanding the ice within your Frigidaire refrigerator tastes funny. Odors or taste within the ice can come from strong flavors of food within the freezer or refrigerator. You should discard your bucket of ice and allow it to make a new batch, also tightly seal any containers that may cause odor issues. You may want to attempt using an air filter to help clean and contain any odors within your freezer. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt
I appreciate your post, friend!
Based off what you have described your Frigidaire refrigerator's icemaker is making knocking noise. This could be due to your water valve or motor. Since it is difficult to pinpoint the cause of the knocking noise I would suggest having a professional technician out to perform an accurate diagnosis. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Good luck. -Matt
I appreciate your post, friend!
I understand that your icemaker is dispensing ice cubes at a slow pace inside of your Frigidaire refrigerator. You could have a slow ice production due to your water filter or water valve. I would suggest checking to make sure your house supply is fully opened and check to make sure your filter does not need to be replaced. This could also be an issue with your water valve. Since it could be anyone of these underlying issues I would recommend contacting a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. This will also help you to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt
