Marrantz 620 showing me 'Unformat' any help?

Hello. Pls, my Marantz 620 suddenly stop working, showing me ''Unformat when i try to either record or play. Display however, works effectively. Can't access my files too. What can i do?

usually hard drive failure boils down to files not opening succesfully, or a random internal failure, not a physical issue with the hard drive, however because dish network repairs these issues on a large scale the fix is to wipe the software and start over which means all recordings are lost, unfortunately recovering these recordings is basically impossible... if you often record things which are imperative to your business i would suggest getting a 622/722 dvr which will allow you to download these recordings to an external hard drive via usb, you will have unlimited use uploading and downloading programs for a one time fee of about 40$

I have a brand new VP-D31. It still has the protector on the screen. I acquired this (legally!) but it has no charger,cables, battery or any etcs. I got it from the Police Auctions and was too ignorant to understand what I was getting. The item was obviously stolen from a store shelf - hence no bits. How about you buy it from me?

I have a PMD660 as well and from time to time a memory card will become "corrupted". During a recording last evening the battery ran out "prematurely" and when replaced, the 660 had the unformat error. Fortunately the card was readable in my Hummingbird card reader.

Normally when I have had UNFORMAT problems in the past I would just FORMAT the card with the computer and the 660 would then be happy with it. Not this time! The 660 still stubbornly displayed UNFORMAT! This time I ended up having to use Partition Commander to wipe out the partition on the card and then DISK MANAGEMENT in the XP's Computer Management program to re-create the partition and format FAT32. Normally when you FORMAT all data is lost so this would end all hope of recovering data from the card.

In the case of hoping to recover lost recordings I would have tried QUICK FORMAT and then tried to "recover" the data with a program like Partition Magic or Partition Commander or some other program that could re-link the blocks and create directory entries.

SOURCE: LG HDD DVD Recorder remote control not working with LG TV

I have a rh 265 remote and lg tv. It stopped controlling the tv. I hold the tv power button down on remote then pushed 1 at the same time. It reset it to work with my tv.

Get the manual and open it up to the part where speakers are defined, then test it/them with tones. Try swapping a different speaker into the center if the current center channel speaker still doesn't work.

I have a Marrantz NR1501. Picture OK, but no sound.

I presume a TV is involved. Have you looked at the manuals? We can't assume you have. Nor can we assess how you have things connected.

Audio and video can be carried on separate media (wires). Your Marantz requires some setup to assign audio sources to specific inputs. It's in the manual.

I would advise sourcing the TV-related audio directly from the (probable) Cable Box to the Marantz.

I have a Marantz CDR 615 and it won't let me record anything-any help would begreat thanks

What kind of error are you getting? Does it attempt to calibrate then display the entire disc as being full? If that try a blank that will tolerate recording at the 1x speed. Nowadays the only thing you will likely find are discs meant for audio recording or data discs that can record at speeds as low as 1x. If you can find some of the earlier kodak, Ampex/Quantegy, japanese maxells, etc then you will be okay. Also it may not be obvious but the cdr 615/620 will not record on cd-rw's
I bought one of those new and had nothing but trouble out of the phillips cdd2000 module that had to be replaced 3 times (3rd time at my expense of $300) but Superscope in Aurora, IL was good about support. Ironically I seam to remember a class action suit against Phillips over their very flaky cdd2000 drives.

Hello I have connected a Marantz TT173 turntable to my stereo system and I am getting a hum when the amp is on can I some how ground the turntable back to my amp at the ground screw will this get rid of...

grounding might solve the problem but you have to replace the connection cords from your marrantz to the turntable... maybe they are the one thats causing the humming.... they may be loose

Unformat

Just solved this very problem with the same machine.
1. Carefully remove the flash card and take a look to see if any of the connecting holes look visibly damaged.
2. If so with a birght light look inside the card port and see if any of the contact pins are bent.
3. With a thin scew driver carefully try to bring the pin back up straight and carefully ( not forcing ) replace the flash card.
Power up and see what happens. It worked for me.
I think our problem was caused by the purchaser either inserting the card the wrong way round or forcing it into te card port.
Once in, leave it there and just record and erase as required.

CDR is not working

have a look on ebay for a cheap working donor recorder as spares are very expensive and very hard to get hold of.
i'm guessing your recorder either doesn't read discs, or it won't eject? which is very common and means either the servo board is faulty or the laser.

The following recorders i know off hand for a donor mechanism are:

MARANTZ DR-6050
PHILIPS CDR-775
PHILIPS CDR-770

if it proves to be just a faulty laser, all 3 of the above have the same laser unit.
if it proves to be a faulty servo board, all 3 have the same servo boards except if you fit one out of a philips model it will show 'PHILIPS CD RECORDER' on the display at power up but will still work nontheless.
obviously if a marantz is found it will show 'MARANTZ CD RECORDER' as normal.
