Check the module where the fm module is and change the whole thing. Before changing it though you can check the output capacitor and change as it might be chocking the digital output

SOURCE: My Emerson NR305TT will not produce sound

You have one of 3 problems:1) bad solder joints in the amplifier or preamp section 2)defective output transistors/ICs in the power amp or 3)missing or incorrect voltages to the amp section. If the unit has a headphone jack plug in a headset. If you have sound then everything is OK thru the preamp section and your problem is in the power amp. Any competent repair shop should be able to solve this one easily.

SOURCE: cobra 148gtldx low vol squelch on fm

Hi Mate, the problem you are having in not uncommon in the
COBERA 148 GTL. I suspect that the problem lies in low value uF electro caps drying out (electrolite) causing power down and frequency drift. The capacitors are in two forms..tiny blue tantalum, and standard radial base caps that are grey aluminium
cans with a black stripe,it would be a job for a skilled person in electronics to replace all of them. The square metal cans with a screw ferrite slug are what you use to tune the radio, and as there are lot of them ,and you don't have a circuit diagram ,it would be pot luck finding the right one/s. What you realy need to know is all electronic devices age and hence, no longer do their job.
it would cost more than the set is worth to rebuild it,but if you have the skills ,it can be done. am cb with usb / lsb are a thing of the past now and you would be better off buying a used set that is still in top working order. The uhf sets are useless as was the am sets depending on what you want the sets to do, in convoy.... great....in remote country....useless. Having said that the am/usb/lsb sets are the best of the three because on ssb they tx on about 12 watts rms so you have a better chance of making contact, but don't count on it as hf cb is no longer in
common use.
GOOD LUCK [email protected]

SOURCE: no am radio but fm works fine

I don't know why you need AM, but that's not the issue.
If you have FM and HEAR it ok, then everything is fine. You've hooked it up right.
Not being able to find AM, is in the new radio.
You need to look to see how to tune to AM.
Maybe the paperwork that came with it!

SOURCE: my tao xm2go unit is transmitting a very weak fm signal to my car radio. I can barely hear the audio.

You likely need to directly connect. In most cases the FM transmitter is too week to broadcast through FM stations, and a direct connection will clear up your issue. It could be as simple as connecting via an Auxiliary cable or Cassette Adapter. If you don't have the ability to use one of those, you can get an Auxiliary Input Adapter. Another solution would be an external FM Transmitter, with a larger range.

SOURCE: What is wrong with my radio??? AM works but FM doesn't.?

I'm very sorry to say this but, The internal FM modulator has blown & the only way of getting FM back is by replacing the head unit.

2000 Silverado FM radio (only) no sound

You can try resetting the radio by removing power from it for a few minutes, reconnecting it and trying again. However, it sounds like an internal electronics problem that will either require a repair or replacement.

3. If your Nuvi has a FM transmitter, is it selected to "FM" or "Speaker"? The "FM" setting will mute the internal speaker. Setting it to "Speaker" will send sound to the speaker.

if this side of it works then the FM transmitter is faulty

Check that the sound has not been MUTED

plug the earphone into the socket to see if any sound is heard. The socket is also a switch that takes sound from internal speaker to ephone and reverse.
If no sound is hear in either FM or normal mode your unit is faulty and needs repair

FM plays extremely low volume

Two things to check:

1) Verify that the tape monitor switch is not on. If it is on you hearing crosstalk only.

2) Verify that the unit has a jumper wire from pre-amp out to Amp-in, if your unit has it.

If neither of the above are the problem, please post the make and model and further details will be provided.

Thanks,
Dan

No sound

1. check if the amp is in PROTECTION mode (might be a bad speaker or shorted output)
2. check the 'MUTE' switch
3. try to use the FM/AM mode to isolate an input source. If there is sound then check input source.
4. ...still no sound have a techinician check it.
