My HP Compaq d530 SFF Wont Startup

booting failure usually means the harddrive has become corrupt to where it wont boot or the harddrive failed try to reload windows xp on your harddive

Start it up.
As soon as you turn it on, repeatedly press the F8 key,
until you see the "Windows Startup Menu" (white text over a black background). Choose "start in VGA mode" or "start in safe mode".
When it starts, change the screen resolution to 800-by-600 and 60 Hertz.
Then, shutdown/restart.

Ok perform a system restore, press F8 at bootup and choose safe mode desktop, when you are asked if you want the safe mode desktop or system restore, choose restore, and when ask if you want restore or desktop choose restore, restore to a time BEFORE the driver up date and follow instructions and reboot, you should be back where you were.Or start up in safe mode desktop, at desktop, go device manager and "Roll back" the driver. reboot, should be OK.

Reboot, start tapping the F8 key when the boot screen first appears, then select safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, go to My Computer/r-click on the C: drive and select Properties from the menu, then select the tools tab, then click the check now button under Error-Checking. Provided you have been able to get that far, after you check for errors, then do a defrag of your hard drive while still in safe mode.

Try booting in safe mode (press F8 right at the end of the bios boot screen and select safe mode). If the problem still persists while running in safe mode then you probably have a hardware problem. In this case power down and re-check all of your connections, reseat any add-on cards, check all power cables, etc. If the problem goes away while in safe mode, then your problem is software related. In that case (while in safe mode still) try removing software and/or hardware drivers and rebooting normally to see if the problem goes away.

A fresh re-install of XP is always a good cure on these type of systems as well.

Try to enter in to BIOS by restearting the notebook (Pressing F2 function, if the notebook enters in to bios then no need to worry. after theat i suggest you to reinstall the notebook to original factory settings dy the recovery disks.

your known config is also probably not working .
try to format and re-install the boot partition.
this means your drive c: , leaving your data intact.

u need to use system recovery cd supplied with system. if u dont have, create the same from your computer from recovery partition.
