SOURCE: Bissell Healthy Home Won't turn on

I found the solution for my vaccum!!

The top handle connects to the lower half of the handle with one phiilips head screw. The screw is halfway between the cord holder on the back. The screw had come loose and the handle has slid back away making it not make contact to send the power down to the motor.
Hope this helps someone else!

SOURCE: Bissell won't turn on

the motor could be ceased up. do you hear a buzzing noise? if you dont hear a buzzing noise, turn it on for about 1 minute, unless it starts smelling hot or starts smoking. if nothing happens after that, try replacing the power cord.

Probably a hose clog. Check the hose on the back of the cannister. Most likely clogged where it attaches to allow debris into the cannister. If cannister is not filling up, that's a sure sign. To remove from top of back of cannister, just turn the ring on the end of the hose to release. Take it outside and push a long thin object through it to force out the clogged hair or debris. The motor is designed to shut off the vacuum cleaner for 30 minutes when this happens to avoid burning up your motor.

SOURCE: Dyson 07 plug gets very hot after prolonged vacuuming

Electrical current passes through the electric cord and plug - it will get warm, that's normal. If the problem is worse where you smell an electrical burning smell, only an authorized dealer can fit a new power cord to your vacuum cleaner. Call the Dyson helpline, they will let you know who the closest repair dealer in your area is.

My bed bissell carpet cleanner keeps cutting out Now won't start

This depends on what bissell you have. This sounds like a faulty cord, check the cord for damage, dents, nicks. Check the plug, try another outlet, is it loose?

Bissel vacuum will not turn on

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

One of the possible causes that your Bissell won't start is that power cord may not be firmly plugged in so you may need to check electrical plug. You may also want to check or replace the fuse or reset the breaker in case there is blown fuse or tripped breaker.

Bissell vacuum shut off and will not turn on again

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

If your vacuum doesn't turn on, make sure that plug is fully inserted into a fully functional electronic outlet. If it still not turning on after verifying this, it could be that the power switch is malfunctioning. You may need to replace the power switch by opening up the handle of your vacuum. I suggest referring to your manual on how to replace the power cord or contact Bissell for troubleshooting steps. 1-800-237-7691.

My Bissell liftoff Revolution won't turn on. Is

Vacuums are not usually fused, but may have a circuit breaker--look for a small protruding button that when pressed, resets the breaker. The plug on the end of the cord may have a wire broken within the plug--replace it with one from a hardware or home center. Another common problem is the power switch may have failed. Order a new one from an appliance parts house. Good luck!

I plug int he vacuum and it doesn't work anymore

Check to see if there is a "reset" button on this unit.
Some new vacs have a red reset button on the side maybe by the plug.
Otherwise is the clog cleared? If so try a different wall plug. You may have to have everything in place for the unit to turn on so make sure the container is in place and locked. Check the cord but otherwise I can not think of any reason for it to not turn on. Re-post if this doesn't help.

I have a Bissell Upright Proheat 2x and the dual power brushes wont rotate. I went to replace the drive belt and noticed the drive shaft does not turn when power is turned on. What shall I check next?

Is there a light that comes on when you "turn the power on." If there is no light, and the unit is plugged in, how do you know there is current going to the motor? Sounds like there might be a break in the cord. Examine the cord near the plug end to see if one of the internal wires is broken. If you cannot tell, then you need to try taking the unit apart where the cord enters the unit and testing continuity with a meter.

Male plug needs to be replaced.

I had same problem with my lift-off, i sent email to Bissell explaining what the problem was and where to get replacement parts. They sent me emial back saying they will send me refeb replacement vacuum becasue this part has been discontinued (I think there is a prolem with lift-off and Bissell is trying to make it right for their customer without official recall). I did get my fedex lable and i sent entier length of cord from my lift-off back to them. I should be getting my refeb vacuum soon.

My Bissel stopped working and have no clue why?

Try Bissel .com, maybe you can download a manual from there. But if it just quit, the cord maybe bad. Alot of times if you unplug the cord by pulling on the cord rater then the plug, you cause the wire to eventaully break. That would be the first thing I would check. ( I am assuming that your vac just went completely dead.)
