Have Talkabout 250 and want to turn off the beeping. any ideas

The following instructions are for the T289, which is very similar to the T250. It is possible they will work to turn off your beeps.

Alert Tones

The Alert Tones (beeps) on the Talkabout radios are set at a fixed volume

level and cannot be lowered. However, Alert Tones can be disabled. When

Alert Tones are disabled, the radio will receive messages at the volume

setting you've selected, but you will not hear beeps when you press control

buttons.

Disabling Alert Tones:

1. Hold down the Monitor button while you turn radio on.

2. To re-activate Alert Tones, turn the radio off, then on again while holding
the Monitor button down.

Motorola T5420 won't transmit to each other.

Since you say the frequency is set the same, you possibly have the code set differently. Check your interference eliminator code. It must be set the same on all radios. For basic operation turn the code off (zero).

How do you turn off the talk confirmation tone (bleepity - bleep) on a motorola talkabout fr60.

On most TalkAbout radios you hold in the plus (+) button while turning on the radio.

No transmition

You can find the manual here http://www.giantintl.com/motorolafrsold.htm by using the menu to select your radio model.

You most likely will need to program your radios to match one another. Pay special attention to the interference eliminator code and the the Qt filter (if any). Both radios must match perfectly to communicate.

Can't make the T5420 operate without the beeps!

I have not looked up the T5420 user guide, however, on most Motorola TalkAbouts you hold in the minus (-) button while turning the radio on. Post back if this doesn't work, and we'll find the manual for you.
