SOURCE: the second hand on my invicta chronograph watch

Easier than you think.
Pull your Crown out to the FIRST stop (were you would normally set your date). Push the "A" button (top chrono button) for your dial at the "3 oclock" area, Push the "B" button(bottom chron button) for the second hand.

SOURCE: I just recieved my Movado

you do not need to return, as this is re-settable. Pull out crown to the first position (date setting) and then toggle with upper push button. If upper button do not do the job, try the bottom one. When you reach 12, then push the crown back in. Start the chrono, stop it and check if it returns to 12.

The seconds hand on my invicta subaqua reserve does not move. It only moves when I start the chronograph. I've read the instructions time after time and can not get it to work.

The hand that moves when the chronograph is working is not a second hand. It will rest at the 12 o'clock position unless you are using the stopwatch. If your Invicta has a second hand, it is one of those small dials on the watch face.

Need a user manual for the time magazine free chronograph watch

I have NO ideal what kind of watch it is so I am giving general chronograph instructions. You will have to use as it applies to the watch you were given.

care.gif
These instructions are provided for users who are not familiar with using a mechanical/analog chronograph. The instructions may be applied to any chronograph that has a seconds counter, 30 minute counter, and hour counter.
Please refer to the instructions of the appropriate model to determine the location of each counter on the dial. Note: some of the features described here may not be available on your particular model. Again, refer to the specifications to see if they apply to your model.
Using the chronographe functions:
How to read the chronographe:
For a chronographe that has a center seconds register, a 30 minute register and an hour register. Example 1: If the hour register is between the 1 and 2, but closer to the 1, and the minute register is at 20, and the seconds register is at 35, then the elapsed time is 1 hour 20 minutes and 35 seconds. Example 2: If the hour register is between the 1 and 2, but closer to the 2, and the minute register is at 20, and the seconds register is at 35, then the elapsed time is 1 hour 50 minutes and 35 seconds.
How to read the tachymetre:
If you are driving and want to determine the speed of the car using your tachymetre, start your chronograph when you pass a mile marker, stop your chronographe when you pass the next mile marker. Look at the center seconds hand and read the number on the Tachymetre scale, this number will indicate the miles per hour that the vehicle is travelling.
How to read the pulsometer:
Some watches have a pulsometer instead of a tachymetre. Use it as follows: Start the chronographe and begin counting the pulse. When you have counted 30 beats, stop the chronographe. The number on the pulsometer scale will indicate the pulse rate per minute.
How to read the telemeter:
Some watches have a telemeter instead of a tachymetre or pulsometer. Here is an example of one use for a telemeter: Start the chronographe when you see lighting. Stop the chronographe when you hear the thunder. Read the center seconds hand on the Telemetric scale and the number will indicate the distance separating the observer from the place where the lighting struck. This can give you a good indication of how far off a storm might be.
The many uses of a chronographe:
A chronograph has many practical uses, from timing a plane flight, a car ride, or simply being curious. There are also some uses for the chronographe that may not be so obvious. For example, you can use the chronographe on your watch as a dual timezone indicator. This is done as follows: If it is currently 6 A.M. in your home location and it is 12 noon in London, start your chronograph at exactly 6 o'clock. The number of hours displayed on your chronographe hour register will then show you the current time in London. Of course, these are just some uses of a chronographe. There are hundreds of uses for chronographes.

It isn't a fault and can be adjusted. Follow this link and find out how to.... http://www.invictawatch.com/ Point at COLLECTIONS and click on INSTRUCTION MANUAL. If you don't know which one of movement makes you have, try both (RONDA first, then MIYOTA). When sorted with type of movement, check how to reset chronograph to 0 (zero).

I can't figure out how to adjust the offset chronograph

This is to adjust the seconds hand or minutes hand for the chronograph. Pull the crown out either one click or two ... depending on the models. Squeeze and hold the top and bottom buttons at the same time (timer stop and reset buttons). Hold down together for 2+ seconds. The chronograph hands should reset by spinning around and stopping at 0. If the don't stop right at zero, you can now adjust where they stop. Leave the crown where it is in that same position out. Press the top chronograph button and hold it down for fast movement or short presses for fine movement to adjust til it stops at the top. This will adjust where the seconds hand stops. Then click the bottom chrono button once. Repeat what you did with the top chrono button and it should allow you to fine tune the position for the next dial, and so on. When you are done, press the crown back in all the way to the normal position.

Invicta model 3209 watch

Your watch is fitted with chronograph movement 5040D made by Ronda (Switzerland). If you take a closer look, then you will realise that the subdial at 3 o'clock is counting seconds allready. This is your seconds dial, not the big one.
The big seconds hand actually is the chronograph hand (stopwatch) and, when activated, works together with 1/10th counter.
Follow this link and see for yourself:

http://www.ronda.ch/e/index_bedienung.html

Find movement 5040D and click on INTERACTIVE version.
