ok i bit confused to your problem, is it switching on it's own and is it always to AV2, or is it when you use the remote it switches over??
they should be a source button on the remote which allows to switch between connection modes. best regards

check for a dry joints at the inverter board for the screen back light, which may have loose contact.

You will have to remove the back cover of the TV and push the DVD out. Do not do this with the power connected.

Sometimes a dvd can be ejected manually but mostly the unit must be partially dismantled but if you try to do that you will invalidate the warranty - at only 5 months old it will be the responsibility of the supplier/retailer to cure the problem. I suggest you re-read the instructions and then contact the supplier without delay.
Then you should contact the dvd rental company and tell them what is happening.
