SOURCE: Sharp lc 32sh20u when power

WELL FOLKS I just FINALLY found what I have been searching for, I own a Sharp LC 32SH12U LCD TV that has begun to show problems with it's picture, Now it's sound is great no change..But it has gotten to the point that when i first turn it on all I get are three or four bright WHITE lines on the right side of the screen. They are a bout one third from the very corner of the screen. After it warms up for a while, MOST of the time it will just pop up and go to working just fine, that is what was giving it away to me that it HAD to be a something generally easy to fix, And in all of my searching I FINALLY found what I was looking for..Rite here on FixYA.com...There it was right thre in PLAIN ENGLISH..(( The T-CON BOARD )) Timing Control or LCD Controller..Board. on teh LCD panel Assembly, It transfers the image signal of the TTL and LVDS signal to specific TFT but What you all really NEED TO KNOW is JUST what is going on with your TV set when the T-CON Board is going bad, And I am about to tell you....So her ya go.. If you TV has any of these symptoms Well then I can pretty much say that your T-CON Board is bad or going bad...OK..If you have A Scrambled Picture,LINES,multiple Pictures Color smears, blotches, Rolling Pictures after warm up, Blown Surface mounted Fuse No Picture, Very Dark Screen almost like there is no backlight....Folks if your SHARP LCD TV is doing ANY of thsi then you just may need to replace your T-CON BOARD!!!! Hey it beats buying a new TV RIGHT!!!! GOOD LUCK FOLKS!!!!! I have already bought my replacement T-CON Board, as soon as I get it and install it I will let everyone know how it went!! PLEASE CROSS YOUR FINGER"S AND PRAY THAT THIS WORKS FOR US!!!! Thanks Wade in Eastman Georgia...

Sony Bravia KDL-60EX500 no longer turns on.

Refer to Sony KDL 55EX500 Troubleshooting Manual Protection Mode Symptom...
5X Blink - TCON & HFR Failure
The 5X blink protection mode indicates a communications error between the TCON/HFR board and the MT5388 microprocessor on the A-Board.
First replace the TCON/HFR Board if the 5X protection mode blink pattern occurs. If the TCON/HFR Board does not repair the problem then replace the A-Board.

TV is a Sony KDL-40S5100, when we turn it on there is a dark shadow over the picture, also left side of screen has shadow effects (residual of previous image). After about 15 min. TV apparantly warms up...

You have issues with the Tcon board, this is a case where you could try putting it in the oven and baking it, below is a video on how to do this, if it doesn't fix the issue and I think it will in your case you will need a new board

I have a Sony KDL-52XBR9 52

Most likely a contact problem or broken track on one of the flexi circuits coming off the LCD screen - Repair shop would recommend a new screen. Some people have bodged repairs by putting pressure (layers if tape) on offending flexi circuit - see AVS forums - but this is definitely not recommended and if you are not skilled then working in the back of a TV can be lethal. My advice always buy LCD TVs with a 5 year warranty (Richer Sounds, JLP or similar).

I have a Sony Bravia LCD 46". The set is 1 year old. When I turn the set on in the morning the colors are blurry and run across the screen. This lasts no more than a minute , it just started doing this for...

Could be 2 things:

1. Main board (BU board)

2. TCON board

Option 1: replacing the main board will run you a few hundred bucks for the Board and $300 in labor (or so) to get it installed.

Option 2: replacing the TCON means you might have to replace the whole screen (some TCONs are not available separately). A quick phone call or visit to Sony's part website will be able to determine which you need.

If you need to replace the screen, buy a new tv. The panels are amazingly, painfully expensive.

Now, there's a way to test which one is causing it, but you'll need to be quick.

For this experiment you will need: a screwdriver, a hair dryer, and some guts.

Take the back off the set, fire up your hair dryer and fire away at the TCON board (located at the top; it's a small board under a metal shield--you can't miss it).

Really warm up the metal shield and circuit board.

Now, plug in your tv and turn it on. If you don't see blurry colors and everything looks normal, you know it is the TCON board.

Slow moving images on screen

either the TCON board or the panel is bad. Sony supplies the two parts as a unit so you will have to have them replaced together. Hope it is under warranty because it is expensive
