Have you tried using an external speaker? If you are using one, try disconnecting it and see what happens.

If you can't hear anything after these easy tests, you have something wrong inside that needs looking at by a qualified technician. Believe me when I say there is nothing that you can do to repair this problem if it is internal to the radio.

SOURCE: not receiving information

The same thing happened to me, and I'm just hitting the two-year mark with this thing. I tested it using the aux speaker leads and that still works. So it is only the little front-panel speaker that is broken. And I checked the leads on that little speaker, and they seem fine. So it is the little speaker itself that broke. Easiest repair is to connect the aux leads (red and brown) to another speaker.

Can i listen to rr channels

well maybe , it depends on what rail road your near , some use a new trunking radio system and unless you've got 20 scanners going your never hear the whole conversation (google how trunking radios work to see why) but in most cases the block controllers talk to the trains via radio that can easy be scanned to find the frequency , now the block controllers talk to one another via a land based data line so you'll never hear them talk to one another as they hand off a train to another block
also if your close enough to a mains yard you'll hear the switchmen and the drivers converse as well but you gotta be close as there radios are low power so don't go very far (1 mile maybe)

When i talk people they can hear me but i cant hear them talk back to me

Turn up your RF gain. If that isn't the issue, then the mic may be damaged. Try a new mic.

I just purchased a uniden solara dsc.I HOOKED IT UP AND THE NOAA WORKS BUT I TRIED TALKING AND NOTHING HAPPENED.(I have a tractor with a radio and neither of us could hear each other).

The Uniden Solara is a MARINE RADIO not a CB. Marine (boat) radios operate in the VHF-Hi range and CB is in the VHF-Lo range. You also need a license to operate a marine radio, or you can identify yourself with the name of your boat but you MUST be in the water.

I cannot send, only recieve

Hi,

Based on your description, possibly a microphone problem. Either that or a wire is cut/open in the microphone cable. Remote possibility is the FM modulator circuitry internal to the marine radio.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
