Figure out what fuse controls the CD player and,
with no key in the ignition, pull the fuse out for a minute (or more -
I've seen TSBs that say leave the fuse out for 10 minutes), then replace
it (theory being that the fuse acts as a reset button). If you cannot
find the fuse, you can disconnect the negative battery cable, but you'll
lose your radio presets and other settings. Make sure you have any
codes for your radio that may be required since disconnecting the
battery cables can cause the radio to quit working too. This fuse trick
seems to have the greatest chance of success overall. Check your owner's
manual - you may have more than one fuse that controls the CD and/or
the radio and you may need to remove all the related fuses.
Try turning off the radio and disconnecting the battery for 1 min and then reconnecting the battery. Turn on the radio and see if that reset the radio so you can get your CD out and try cleaning the CD player with a cd player cleaner. Note you have to make sure the radio is off before you disconnect the battery. Good luck and hope this helps
I had the same problem. disconnect the battery cables. then reconnect them. this will reset the cd player and it should relaese all your cd player problems.
this happened twice to me and the above worked fine both times.
unfortunately i can only fix the "alternator wine": all you need is a ground loop isolator. it hooks up to your RCA cables in between the radio and amp. the only thing i can think for your other problems is fuses, unless somehow your factory radio controls those functions
Betty,
Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery for 10 minutes. Reconnect the terminal and recheck CD player.
Let me know and we can go from there.
Regards,
the only thing i can sagest is that you leave the battery disconnected over night this may reset the cd player and it may

Recognise that it has cds in it the only other thing i can think of is that when it says enter single disk only that you do so to a point don't let it go all the way in this may make the cd player think there is a disk in there hope this helps ricko
Their is possibly a short. I would first isolate the problem. Disconnect the CD player and radio. If you can disconnect it then remove the radio fuse.
Start and drive the car for 15 minutes or so. Shut it off, and let it sit for a while. Then go out and start the car. Repeat this until you are sure that your problem is with the radio or wiring.
If The car fails to start and is having a repeat of the problem you have a parasidic draw on the battery from somewhere.
