Found this it may or may not help.
Issue 1. Hibernation mode causes the computer to stop responding (always)
Details: When pressing the case button or start menu button, computer does not go into hibernation. Instead, it hangs :
- On/Off case button stays green instead of flashing orange
- Screen blanks
- Keyboard/touchpad/mouse do not respond
- Fan starts at medium speed
- No hard disk activity
- Laptop has to be turned off by pressing and holding On/Off button on case.
- Vista starts with warning that computer has not been turned off correctly.

Issue 2. Sleep mode causes the computer to stop responding (randomly)

I have finally found a culprit for Issue 1 : this is the antivirus software Avira Antivir. Whenever I _disable_ Antivir Guard before hibernating, hibernation (and subsequent wake-up) proceed as expected.

As far as issue 2 is concerned, I will have to do further testing, since this happens randomly and rarely, but this may be a related issue.

To sum it up, _workaround for Issue 1_ is:
- _Disable Antivir Guard_ before hibernating (and possibly sleep)
- _Enable Antivir Guard_ after wake-up.
Although awkward, this is the only solution I have found, short of switching to another AV brand.
Vista SP2 may or may not fix this.

Note: same issue has occurred with:
- Antivir 8 Premium
- Antivir 8 Personal
- Antivir 9 Personal

My del studio laptop doesn't shut down

You could have a corruption in the script or a process that won't stop. Try holding down on the power button until the screen goes dark and all lights go out. That is a hard shut down without saving settings. After it shuts down (finally) power it back up. Hit the F8 key on your keyboard the moment your machine goes to the black screen before it can load windows. That is the safe mode. Move the highlight up to safe mode or safe mode with networking and allow it to continue to boot up. Then, when it's completed the process and windows displays that it is in safe mode, do a normal restart. That should resolve the issue.

Dell Studio 15 runs slow... My Dell studio 1558 takes long time to boot & processing is also slow,i have tried disk cleanup and defragment hard disk but nothing worked,it has the following...

Check the boot processes in the from your systems control panel and look for unnecessary boot time services. Such as an anti virus boot scan and similar processes. Sometimes it is caused by the network card driver. Start your computer in safe mode and select the selective start up option and disable each service one by one (non windows) to find out which one is slowing down your boot process. It usually due to a boot scan, a faulty driver, or an invalid or corrupt registry entry. I highly doubt that you are infected with a virus and it is due one of the issues listed above.
