Dear sir,

In reply to your post- Generally now a days we use DDR400 RAM(DDR 1) for this type of motherboard. So DDR 400 RAM is More compatible then other RAM,you can use this RAM for your motherboard to obtain good performance.

Please see the mainboards specs in the manual:

http://www.ibora.net/board/up/1077775087-e1058_p4s533-vm.pdf

-your board has four RAM module slots of two kind,

-of which only two can hold the maximum capacity of 2GB of RAM-Modules (2x1GB, PC2700,SD-RAM) at a time.

- any SD-RAMs labelled PC2100 and above fit your board, the newer ones (PC2700, for e.g. are down-compatible, will run with slower frequency, but fit though)

- make sure that insert two similiar (a pair)
modules, else one might go up in smoke (i learnt that, too.)

- so depending on how much you are willing to spend on new ones(that you want to use in a newer machine later on??)
u can spend either around 50 bucks (for the 2x512MB PC2700) modules
or 90 (for the 2x1GB, PC3200 version, the future option).
Up to U!

I put drr ram but do not work. i must tomake some fifical connectin in board ?where ?

Hi

DDR RAM will only fit in the correct socket. If you are sure the socket is for DDR and the RAM you are using is DDR, then the problem could be the type of DDR you are using.

Check what the maximum GHz speed of RAM your motherboard can accept.

Check what the maximum Mb/Gb of RAM your motherboard can accept.

Check if the RAM is Errror Correcting or Non Error Correcting.

See here for more information on RAM types:

http://www.computermemoryupgrade.net/types-of-computer-memory-common-uses.html

Check the specifications of your motherboard on the manufacturer's website or by typing the name and model number + Specifications into Google.

If the RAM you are using is the correct one for your motherboard, then either the RAM or the motherboard may be faulty.

Reset the BIOS on the motherboard by disconnecting the power cable and removing the small silver CMOS battary for 2 minutes and then replacing it, then test the RAM again.

Go to a computer repaitr shop and let them test the RAM and motherbord for you separately with another computer.

DDR is very old technology, so it is cheap to buy more DDR RAM or a compatible motherboard from www.amazon.com.

I hope this helps.

I have 266 mhz 256MB RAM with intel D845 board. I want to upgrade it to 512mb or 1GB. Can you please tell me whether 333/400mhz will be suitable or where can I get it in hyderabad

hlo hyn you should get RAM 200/266 MHz of 512mb or 1Gb

below are the specifications your motherboard can support.

  • Two DIMM sockets supporting 2.5V (only) 184-pin 200/266 MHz Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
  • Unbuffered non-ECC DIMMs only
  • Maximum total system memory: 2 GB; minimum total system memory: 64 MB
  • Serial Presence Detect (SPD) DIMMs only
  • Suspend to RAM

Hey All, THIS IS URGENT. My PVCLE266M-L V3.0a will not boot into any OS. I have 2 identical boards. I can navigate BIOS on both of them with the DDR400 512MB RAM stick I have put in. (The specifications...

Your mainboard PVCLE266M-L does not support the DDR 400 Mhz RAM (PC3200) ie @ 400Mhz frequency. For the memory specfications it support "2 x 184-pin DIMM sockets support two2.5V DDR SDRAMs (DDR266)" maximium is 2GB or DDR PC2100 ie @ 266Mhz frequency.

PC133 is the SDRAM so it will not fit the DDR RAM slot.

You should not use the 400MhzDDR memory RAM on a Mainboard with a FSB(Front Side Bus) of 133 Mhz and the 400Mhz DDR Ram is not compatible with the mainboard.

Get the DDR 266 with double side chipset i.e.DDR1 RAM (DDR PC2100) RAM and it will be compatible with your mainboard. Sometimes single side chipset DDR1 RAM will not work on older mainboard.

    Hope it helps.

    DDR or DDR2

DDR 266 is DDR, not DDR 2 . The 266 is the frequency value in Mhz.

Try having the memory refunded or resell it on Ebay, so that you do not lose your money.

Here is supported memory, many older motherboards do not accept modules of over 512Mb each, ask to the seller:

    Gigabyte GA-8IGX Motherboard memory upgrade

If you bay DDR 400 it will slow itself down to 266 automatically. I've seen a very few cases where it didn't work because of voltage differences but that is very rare and usually with really cheap OEM motherboards, your Gigabyte should be safe.

    Compatible Memory

if your motherboard is a DDR Ram supported type memory it should be able to take DDR 2100 or higher as most DDR is backward speed compatable, but it may be incompatable with certain types of ram or may need two of the same speed in each slot. Pc 266 is the double data rate of pc133 which in DDR terms is pc 2100
