How do I remove the keyboard on a Samsung R610 laptop. I have been able to remove the keyboard, but can't seem to unclip the cable that connects the keyboard to the motherboard. Is there some special technique? Thanks in advance.

The keyboard connector come in two types.
A plastic connector and usually has a plastic tab that you pull to lift the connector off, DO NOT PULL on the ribbon cable.
The other type is, a ribbon cable that is inserted into a plastic socket on the motherboard. To release the ribbon cable, lift up the plastic catch on both ends of the to release the ribbon cable. When you want to insert the ribbon cable, make sure the catch is in the up position before you insert the ribbon cable, then insert the ribbon cable and the push the ends of the plastic catch down to lock in the ribbon cable.

I may be mistaken, but it may not be 'clipped' to the mainboard such as IDE-drives are to the motherboard,
but the connecton is more of a card nature, so that you should be able to 'carefully!' seperate
keyboard and mb by pulling out the semi-transparent 'cables' . If you're not 100 percent sure, look for repair videos in youtube!

hope this helps

Hdmi

Sounds more like you have some power cords from other devices that could be causing electromagnetic interference on the HDMI cable. I've never head of anyone experiencing this from something like HDMI 1.1 to a HDMI higher version, but have heard some won't work at all.

How to Replace the CMOS Battery in an Acer Aspire 5738ZG Lap top

This is quite complex to get to, and I wouldn't attempt it unless you've got fairly extensive experience of dismantling laptops. The battery is a CR2032, and it's under the cover that's revealed when you remove the keyboard.

You need to
remove both back covers
take out the hard disk and CDROM (RAM can be left in).
unclip the leads to the WiFi module.
Remove all screws from the case underneath, including the one lower left of the HDD bay.
turn it over, and prise off the strip above the keyboard. Undo the screw holding the P switch module to it.
Push UP the clips along the top edge of the keyboard and remove it, unclipping the ribbon cable. For these connectors, they hinge upwards to release the ribbon.
Unclip the screen connector.
thread back the WiFi cables to where they join the screen.
Unscrew the brackets holding the screen on, and remove it.
Unclip the 3 ribbon connectors, and the 2 two-wire connectors below the keyboard
Prise off the top cover, starting at the back, where the screen hinges were.
CMOS battery is at the lower edge.

Reassembaly is just the reverse of the above. I found it easier to reattach the WiFi leads to the module BEFORE re-inserting it and screwing it down, and before putting the leads back into their cable routing.

I'd suggest you google for
Acer Aspire 5738z Service Manual
to get more info.

Took me about 90 minutes with a moderate degree of experience dismantling laptops...

How do i remove the keyboard from a compaq pressario laptop please? need to replace as keys have been removed, already have new one, but cannot get laptop to split although all screws seem to out???

I removed the panel above the keyboard, removed the four screws and tilted the keyboard forward. Unclipped the ribbon cable and the keyboard was out. Replacement was the opposite procedure to removal, very easy after I thought about it. Thanks

Did the card come with the laptop? If it did it might be made by samsung. You could try finding the driver on the samsung website. Or you may be able to find it out using belarc advisor. You can download it here:
